Why is he so coy and flirty with the camera? Does he think if he puts on some charm, he'll sell more? When they come back to him on a show after a promo or commercial, he's always laughing and looks guiltly...like he just got caught masturbating under the table or something......ew....

He is cocky, but I don't see him as being arrogant ... he pokes fun at himself all the time! I know that I'm probably the minority here, but he's one of my fave hosts.

Beekeeper,
I remember when I went to QVC for the Gourmet Holiday show in Nov, and I was talking to Lisa R, and I told her that he wasn’t one of my favorites; she said she would do anything for him. According to Lisa, he was just the greatest, and she would literally give him her arm if he needed it. Then I saw them together going over something and it did seem like there was a genuine caring for each other. I guess when you work with people day after day, you get to know them and I guess we will just have to trust that indeed, Rick is a decent person.
My husband had an experience with his cousin Rick, YES, you are reading right. But Rick told him that he was too busy with his career to have anything to do with family genelogy. That began my dislike for him. You see my father in law has traced family ancestry and the Domeirs and the Haagensons (My name) have family history, cousins by marriage of someone. When my husband tried to talk to him, in the parking lot at QVC, he got an unpleasant response.

He is cocky but in a funny way. Rick always has the look of "being caught with his hand in the cookie jar". That's just Rick. He is a little Shit (in a good way) but I enjoy him. I love when he jacks with the hosts and the callers. This 70 something year old lady called during a jewelry show...she told Rick she had meant him one time.... he said "I didn't try to pick you up or anything did I"....LOL-that was so damn funny. The caller thought it was funny too. Also, I love when they cut to him for a walk on during a makeup show, many times he will try to pucker his lips like the models, among other things. And, he is especially good with Joan Rivers. They are a hoot together, whether it's jewelry or most recently her Beauty TSV (that was hilarious). Bottom line, Rick is Rick, I understand his personality. But, I also understand why people don't care for him.

As I've said before, the Herr Domeir on TV is nothing like the arrogant beast he is in real life. He belittles the kids on the teams he coaches to the point where my son cringes whenever we pass Magnolia Drive, where Rick and his family live.
Trust me, Herr Domeir is a cruel and self-serving man. I hat ehim.

This is a (mostly) funny thread. How did I miss it the first time around? Must have been during my TV Talk hiatus.
Newbie, my experience with kids and sports is that coaching brings out the very best--or worst--in people. I'm sorry to hear your son had such a bad experience with Rick.
I have friends going back to when my kids were in preschool who later became their coaches, and I couldn't believe how different their coach personalities were. Men and women both. Kinda freaky.

I had to chuckle last night when Rick tried to pick up Judith Ripka's chubby fingers to show off one of the rings she was wearing, and Judith pulled her hand away from Ricks's, as if to say she didn't want him touching her. lol!! I would think that would make whomever uncomfortable having someone holding their hand and turning it in all sorts of girations to look good on camera.

linda lou: I would actually like to hear what you had to say about Rick and how he handles the kids he's coaching. that is probably much more his personality than what a QVC host is trying to show on camera. They are after all trying to get you to like them and buy whatever they are trying so desperately to get us to buy.

I am not the one who has anything to say about Rick and how he handles coaching kids. It's the unregistered "Newbie" that spouts her hostility towards him on a regular basis.
Of course any person in the public eye is going to put their best foot forward, but I think the attacks on him by Newbie go way beyond just personal likes or dislikes of how a person conducts himself on a shopping channel. Obviously, she has real or imagined issues with him, so maybe she should have a talk with him since she's his neighbor.........

My sister's boys were heavily involved with Little League and it has carried on to the next generation. I hear (and have heard through the years) a lot of complaints about coaches and what it usually comes down to is that the coach is not being "fair" to their little darlings. People do not realize the commitment in time and energy it takes for these volunteer positions and I always try to get my point in that there is another side to the story.

People don't even wear "tv makeup" anymore. With new Hi-Def camera's most regular tv shows (Qvc, news shows) don't have to wear the pancake stuff anymore. Now, sitcoms may be different....
I've also seen Rick in person, looks the same as on TV. (if not better) Next newbie will say he has the dreaded crusty elbows!!! OH NO! or his socks are not as bright white as they can be!

Linda Lou - I am cracking up here! Just last night I was reading the story posted about Patti and Lisa R at the salon when along came Dan Wheeler and his camel toe... Had to tell that one to my hubby. Then next thing I know, I'm reading about Susan Graver saying in her NY accent "camel taupe" which sounded like "camel toe" on air. And then... I woke up this morning, turned on the Q and Dan Wheeler was on air!!! Oh my! When will the madness end? I hope I don't dream about the camel toe tonight.
PS - My hubby didn't know men could have camel toe. I had to explain... Lord-y me!!!

The madness will never end as long as we have showhosts like Dan Wheeler, Patti, and Bob B. for the pickin'. :D

Linda Lou, to prove that you are really Amy, please tell us Herr Domeier's middle name. Hopefully he's told you.

Newbie, You are by far the lamest poster I have ever seen on this board. So what, you know Rick Domerier (if that is even true)! Do you realize you sound like a crazy stalker that has been rebuked by someone who doesn't want her? I swear you are obsessed with RD and jealous of his wife. In a fair world, you would be sued for slander over the things you have said about him. I wouldn't be surprised if you eventually receive a restraining order if you keep this up.
If you really do know RD, I bet you are the type of person who is nice to his face and then can't wait to come s your rage in a forum that lets you hide behind a fake username. What a coward! There is something lacking in you that you feel the need to try to ruin this man's reputation - not that you can because everyone on this board knows you are a joke.
Oh and by the way, if RD did criticize your kid's ball playing abilities, so be it. The little guy probably sucks and if he is anything like his mother, he is probably stupid and looks at himself as a victim. Sports are not for momma's boys. RD probably did him a favor. While some of my post to you is obviously sarcastic, I say in total honesty that I feel terrible for your son. He has to live with a mother who is crazy and pathetic and spends her time bashing a QVC host. Your posts are so stupid, they would almost be funny if it weren't so clear that you are a sad, pathetic, insecure, crazy, bitchy coward. Oh, and I bet you're really fat and ugly too. Your posts are clearly written by a up cow.
Get a life, loser!! But, please keep posting. I love laughing at you!!! :-)

Am I the only person who thinks that Rick is not only reading these messages but posting them as well?

I'll tell you something about Rick. He is generous. He is kind. He does have a loud voice, but he is humble and hardworking. He loves his kids and works hard for his family. He volunteers in his community. He goes to a Lutheran Church-(sorry Newbie)! He wants to do great things. He's just a man doing his job in a very public forum. AD --spoken from someone who knows him best :)

Do Lutheran's have those baptismal fonts??
I kinda liked imagining Rick losing it and shoving an usher into one!
LOL! BTW, I think this is a very nice post, Mom24/7!

My husband is a retired, Hall of Fame , football coach and it did not matter how many points ahead you were or how many championships you helped their kids win, there are always going to be parents who love to hear themselves talk and make asses out of themselves at games. It is too bad for the kids who often find their parents to be embarassing. And, this starts in little league early childhood games. My husband used to check on kids grades, council with them, go to court for them if they needed help, put in extra hours in weight rooms helping them,....in other words, go out of his way for them only to have their parents turn on him. We live in a self centered, what else can you do for me today world. It isn't just in sports either. Parents will show up at school furious because their child got a B instead of an A or because they feel they have too much homework or because they disagree with teacher and administrator decisions. The federal government wants no child left behind....Well, parents better get a grip on reality and start taking responsibility instead of blaming everyone else. The kids will be the ones in the end who are left behind.........Nothing to do with Rick Domier...I just wanted to vent...Ha....

You mentioned about how parents show up at the school furious about something. A short while ago, my son's school sent home a letter asking parents not to show up at the teacher's classroom & start talking about how they're upset with this or that. The kids can hear everything & it's not good for them & it disrupts class time. Not exactly in those words, but something like that.

24/7 signs off with the initials "AD". Isn't Domeier's wife's name Amy?
I mean, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out!
