With all due respect to Regis fans, these past two days of LIVE has been akin to watching reruns of the old Lawrence Welk show. A host chat consisting of a hopelessly square septuagenarian and his sexagenarian wife discussing their social life is definitely not my cup of tea.

And why were we subjected to a five-minute eulogy to some old acquaintance of Regis that no one has ever heard of? Surely thirty seconds would have been sufficient. When Kelly's old AMC castmate, Ruth Warrick (who starred in no less than "Citizen Kane") passed away in January, it barely got a mention.

Now, I'm middle-aged myself, but I sure miss Kelly's youthful exuberance and goofy antics. Her vivacity and infectious joie de vivre are what make my morning. What a great start to the day!

Joy Philbin is a lovely, charming woman, but she doesn't have Kelly's sense of humor. Kelly's style may not appeal to everyone here (and how sad is that!), but she is unique and no one can take her place.

But it is notable that Regis interrupted Joy just as much as he does Kelly and that (in spite of what's been written here) there was still a reliance on newspaper clippings.

Gee, tomorrow's show promises to be a doozie. TWO old rich fogies dropping names and vying for the limelight. Ho hum.

CAN'T WAIT FOR KELLY'S RETURN NEXT WEEK!

Yep, for me, this week's gonna be longer than patchwork week...

But today, LOL, I was kept busy looking for signs of knife work... <wink> I did notice a little tightness in the cheek area... Could it be? Nah... What was I thinking? It's Joy!

I would like to see Trump and Kelly co-host, just once, though...

It's absolutely fine that Joy is not everybody's cup of tea. Some days she bores me too, but yesterday was NOT one of them! The important thing is you guys are watching....that speaks volumes!

Unlike you Susan...I don't watch anything I don't enjoy. So I didn't watch Baby Joy and Regis "show off" their rich lifestyle. What bugs me about this couple....they BRAG too much!!!!

Why not, Susan? Does Regis have dibs on the Donald? (Hah... Regis didn't even remember that he co-hosted before..)

Kelly and Donald and Melania ARE friends and they were cute together in the "fire" off. I think the two of them "could" provide a lot of fun for the audience... Unless he sits in "once", we will never know...

I don't get your toupee comment, though... It's his own hair, is it not?

um...uh....who is Lawrence Welk? what does septuagenarian and sexagenarian mean? oh....so Lawrence welk is a husband who has a sex-addictive wife who likes to have physical love around 70 times a week?

*smile....I totally agree that our Kelly is irreplacable....but to me...so is Kathie Lee and Joy....they all give me pleasure watching them and I find myself smiling....give me these three women with our Regis and I am a happy Fan....albeit a wishful dreaming on one....*giggles

Thank goodness Joy's sense of humor differs from Kelly's. Joy hosts with so much ease, class and clean fun that I actually wanted to watch the whole show, instead of a few minutes. Haven't been able to that in a long, long time.

Trump will be a welcome change from Joy. Gelman must have known two days would be all the viewing audience could take. <wink>

I don't see Joy and Regis as braggers; I think they are just sharing with us a part of their lives. What bothers me more is Kelly's self-deprecating humor. I really hate her phoniness. I don't see Regis and Joy as phoney - they are a classy, rich, older couple who are what they are. They don't pretend to be poor and uninteresting like they phoney one....

I see... Only "WE" are the childish ones? And any gripes about Joy, or Regis, other subs is always "payback"?? Get real...

I have no problem watching anyone they put on the show - temporarily, but by golly durn, I will also say what I think about said choices...

For some reason, you Bashers only think Free Speech applies to you, as in "let US speak our opinion"... Don't tell "US" what we can say... All the while railing to the Talk Show Gods non-stop... LOL...

But, Hmmm.... Then again, perhaps "childish 'pay back'" is at least as much fun as "childish" ragging on Kelly and Mark non-stop for 4 years... LOL... YOU get such a small dose of what we have put up with forever... It seems as if you could suck it up for a week or so - IF you are the more adult posters here...

I don't know how people could think of Joy as "classy" when we found out that she stood there in her slinky teddy in her hotel room and DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO COVER OR HIDE when two men came to the door during their Christmas vacation!!!

I haven't watched any of the shows this week. Joy IS boring and stiff.

Looks like some can dish it out but can't take it in return. I do know that most Kelly fans might take Joy for awhile but if she was on all the time the fans would get bored and move on. No sense in watching for years and griping about it everyday. That WOULD be strange.

Dana Carvey and Bonnie Hunt... Tomorrow will be funny for sure, unless there are one too many "Regi" on...

Bonnie is pretty dry, humorwise, but can come up with some good stuff, too...

I would like to see that too...hehehe....(picturing Kelly purposely running her hands through the DONALD's hair and messing it up....*giggles and his face all red) but I think I would like to see Kelly cohost with TYRA BANKS.....Tyra is um...trying out to be a television talk show host with her own show....she would be asking for Kelly's advice and expertise on being a good talk show host....that would be cool seeing Kelly giving Tyra her knowledge of the "business".........and then the 'CAT WALKs" *giggles....

oh!...another good idea (well to me at least *smile) is have three cohosts for a day....yes...Ted and Faith and Kelly.....that host chat segment would be fun hearing them tell "behind the scenes" stories, gags they play on each other, any future story lines, Pictures of the cast at the "Wrap Up" party...stories they talk about Regis's appearance...*giggles etc.....
