Antonella is on TV now (early afternoon CDT), and her hair is beautiful and her face. Last time I saw her, she had like almost black lipstick. She really looks pretty today.

I'm not really listening to her though, because I'm cruising around here.

Have a nice day everyone.

Illinois! I see you have registered. Welcome. There is another poster on here named Still N/A. He had to put the "Still" in his screen name because he had previously used only "N/A" and it would not let him become a registered poster after being a guest. Are you the same Illinois?

Is it just me or does Antonella remind anyone here of Patti R? Antonella's hair is darker but the style is similar. I have never seen Antonella before since she mainly works while I am asleep.

Yes! Mammy, I noticed the facial features are very similar on both of them. Also, did anyone notice the GREEN cards Antonella had with the blue QVC cards? I noticed her with these last week. I don't see all of the hosts with the additional green cards. Any ideas? Maybe it is additional information that they want the hosts to mention. A more detailed cheat-sheet???

Patti had one the other day and Shelia had some Monday night. Hmmm.

Antonella is growing on me more and more. She is unlike any of the other hosts, in looks or personality, and I find that extremely refreshing. In other words, I like her!

I said to my mom last night that my ideal neighborhood would be like this: Antonella on one side, Mary Beth on the other - I could borrow a cup of sugar from one and a cup of flour from the other. I would like Dave King and David Venable around, across the street perhaps, so they could help with the 'heavy' stuff.

Her appearance has changed a lot. When she started, of course the dark lip stick and her nails were longer and very dark, too. I was wondering why they would not have made these changes (improvements?) before a host went on the air full time. She is not a favorite host of mine but she does come across as a very nice person. I am also surprised to see her on during the day. The new management has made some changes in the host rotation, to be sure!

I really like Antonella. Maybe it's because I'm Italian. She just comes across as a real person - not someone trying to imitate someone else. Personally, I would like to see her have more afternoon and evening hours. She seems very sweet and down to earth - and those are qualities that a lot of the other hosts just don't have.

Her personality seems to be suited for the afternoon. I wonder what JRT thinks of the newer hosts! Maybe we will be seeing JRT on over-nights! NOT!

Hi Puddy, it is me....Illinois... I didn't have a problem registering.....

I enjoyed your comments about your ideal neighborhood...., especially the David's with the heavy stuff....hahahaha (but true.. I could envision it easily...)

Good point Iniseire,

She did not seem to be imitating someone else..

I love Puddy's neighborhood! Does there happen to be a little colonial style house with a magnolia tree in the front yard that I could move into? And do you have basements where you are? We can't have them, but my brother and sister-in-law in West Virginia have one, and I want one, too...LOL.

Iniseire, I couldn't agree with you more. After watching Patti and Sheila try to morph into Lisa R, I was more than ready for someone like Antonella.

I can just see Jill right now....breast feeding Trevor...watching Antonella....and now watching JRT. Can Jill breast feed the kid on the air? She needs to come back as soon as possible. Elizabeth is already back on The View. I think that is record time!

Yes, Nova, you can have a basement! I would also like another neighborhood, a ghetto really, where we could send the hosts that we don't like. I can see Bob hustling pots and pans on the corner if I close my eyes.

Antonella has improved greatly. She's a lot more palatable to me now, both in her presentations and her appearance. Now, let's see if the others can do the same!

Yay, Puddy says I get a basement!

QVCQ, I can honestly say that when I saw her for the first time, I wondered what in the world QVC was thinking. Thank goo-ness my first impressions weren't the grading curve, because all of a sudden she has come into her own, and I think she will keep getting better and better.

Dan Wheeler can take his (thanking Puddy for her earlier reference) camel-toe over to Bob's ghetto neighborhood ... WAY on the other side of town I'm hoping!

OMG, the camel toe that won't die! And you know what? I just never know when it will pop up! (the reference, that is, but if the toe fits) I swear you guys just absolutely make me laugh out loud sometimes!

Jane did her first walk on with Antonella, and it was very cool to see. Many of you may already know Anotella has actually been watching/shopping with QVC circa 1990. So she fits right in. I like Antonella alot, she is improving majorly, and I'm glad to see her working during the day, instead of the graveyard hours. You will still her early in the morning though. I think QVC is being smart it giving new hosts a chance to work during the day, instead of waiting 5+ years to do that.

Sorry if this is going to 'ruffle' some feathers here but I just do not care for Antoinella at all. She had her hair lightened (what took them so long) and I still do not think she should be a QVC hostess. I thought Antonella was Spanish, not Italian, but I'm sure we'll find that out soon enough too. She may be a very nice person but she doesn't cut it as a host in MHPO.

Thanks Sparks and Novalee.

And Sparks, please do not be afraid to post your true opinions here. We all disagree on something but have respect for each other's opinions like Novalee stated. That's why I like to post on this board. The majority of us are 'the greatest" of people. Free speech is so important - just like friendship. The best thing about this board is when a poster makes us laugh, and there are many. So enjoy. It's fun to 'ruffle' feathers sometimes!

You know, it would even be more fun if Trevor added 'smilies' for us!

I love reading all kinds of opinions. That's what makes this fun and interesting; otherwise, this site would be boring......! In fact, one of my Non-favorites is Jacque, but a lot of people like her.

I agree that you should be able to voice your opinions without being blasted. That's what this site is all about -- having fun, sharing ideas, and, yes, being critical or complimentary of hosts, programs, clothing, etc., without being ridiculed. That was a problem not too long ago. But, thankfully, those posters have disappeared. What makes this site fun is that everyone has their own opinions. It's interesting to hear from all points of view. I don't care for some hosts who are very popular (such as Mary Beth. She's just not on my favorites list.) But I have never been toasted for saying that. I think it's called civility.

I have to agree, I thought Antonella looked great the other day. Her hair looked a shade lighter and her makeup was more subtle.
I would love to have a makeover by the stylists at QVC, they transform all the hosts from average to radiant.

I have nothing to say about free speech. NOT! LOL!!! Everytime I post about the fact that anyone can post on here and should be able to do it without being flamed, I can hear God Bless America in my head!

As for Antonella, she is not a favorite of mine. She seems like the sweetest person but not suited to be a show host. I see her in a receptionist/guest services capacity. She would be a good early afternoon host because she is laid back. I am very surprised to see the change in policy at QVC, though. I posted about Patti mentioning her 'three year overnight initiation' a while back. Hell, it hasn't been six months and she's out in the daylight! I wonder what the other hosts think about this new policy??? Has anyone else noticed the green cards along with the standard blue cards with 'QVC' on the back?

pudster, I think I feel the same as you about Antonella. She seems like the sweetest person and very sincere and genuine, unlike some hosts that seem extremely phony and fake. I just don't know if I like her as a host. I think she's doing okay, though, and I don't mind watching her. I don't know what the deal is with the green cards. I haven't seen them yet, but a lot of times it's background noise and I'm not actually watching. I'll make it a point to have a peek.

I also think Antonella has really improved and has become a very good host. What I like about this board is that if you like or dislike someone no one puts you down for it, your opinion is respected unlike other board (namely Regis and Kelly) if you don't agree with a few of the people on that board they insult you and put you down. One person especially just makes a fool of anyone who disagrees with her. So I think this is the board I will stick to.
Nice people here.

I think there is something wrong with me ( beside my obvious lack of a "filter" or the question of my mental capacity) I just don't like Antonella. I am trying. I really am. I respect all of your opinions but I just cannot seem to hop on the Antonella Armada. What is wrong with me?

bichonlady

HHIgirl: it took me some time to get used to Antonella, too. When she first came to QVC, I thought that her appearance was a total visual assault. She was so full-blown harsh looking that I just couldn't get past that. Now that I'm de-sensitized to her appearance, I can view her more objectively and she's beginning to grow on me. As for Christa Pitts, Laurie Shore, Jill Bauer....well, that's for another post. I will never warm up to them. Sorry.

I like Antonella. It took me a while to get used to her, but she really has grown on me. I think she's very down to earth and doesn't take life seriously.
She's one of my faves.

Come on in and stay awhile, Tara. Most of the people here are cool and funny. You'll find yourself laughing out loud at some of the things you read.

HHIgirl, it's okay if you don't like Antonella. Different strokes for different folks.

bichon, I know what you mean about Antonella at first. She was severe!

Have a great night, all.

When I first saw Antonella's pic on the QVC website, I thought she was weathered looking but then I saw her hosting a show and thought she had a great personality and was pretty. I haven't seen her new look but I am sure she looks great.

Tara, welcome! We all understand about mean posters, and you will find that if someone does a "number" on one of the posters here, they get told about it. All of our opinions matter, even when we disagree, and there is just no reason to get ugly and personal.

I'm never up this late but I have QVC on with Antonella hosting.

I only saw her one other time for a brief moment. She is different looking. When the camera does a close up she sure has a strange tip of the nose!!

I think Antonella and Patti resemble each other. They both have similar noses, chins and hips and they are both pretty short.

Antonella did something Patti would never do. She was hosting Carole Hochman sleepware and she was showing her legs. I have to say her legs are not bad looking. They were nice to look at for the whole show. :)

After the Hochman show Antonella hosted Problem Solvers (Or, was it QVC Sampler? Who cares, its all the same stuff, anyway.) Anyway, she was presenting the XL Glider with the lady who's usually the guest when they show that thing. She called the lady an "instructor." The lady must have felt insulted because she corrected Antonella, saying she was a "trainer." Also, for some reason Antonella was wearing this long, floor-length flowing skirt with sandals. She actually took off the sandals and got on the glider in that long skirt! Then, either she didn't realize it or she was trying to keep from tripping because she wasn't gliding right. She was just swinging her legs back and forth. I mean, I don't own one of those machine but, I would think you need to use your leg muscles rather than just swing your legs. As for the outfit, I know she had to change out of the Carole Hochman but, how about some Denim & Co pants or, something more suitable anyway!

QVCQ, I saw that this morning, and I am still trying to figure out why...lol

Cubsfan

I caught the very begining because I knew she had to change clothes and was amazed at the skirt. I just started laughing and thought she would have been better wearing the sleepware she had on. I wished I would of stayed tuned to see her on the glider that seemed like that would have been funny. :)

Cubby, I almost always see at least part of the 5Ato6A shows while I am getting ready for work. It was funny that I saw that exact portion of her show, and while I really like Antonella, I laughed, too. I cannot imagine why she chose what she did, and why no one else suggested to her that a different outfit may be more appropriate...lol

I normally don't notice things like that but after seeing her in the sleepware to that it was quite a difference. :)

The thing I don't understand is the fact that a new host has six months of training. Part of that is on camera. Why not re-vamp her appearance before going on the air officially? The more subtle make up is much better. Maybe Antonella could speak to Lisa...
