Besides MAKEUP, does anyone have collectibles?

I collect Barbie Dolls and Cameo lockets, pins, brooches and necklaces. Once in a while there is a good find on E-Bay or at Estate Sales.

Maybe I will go to Italy one day and purchase the best of the best in Cameo!!

Besides bee pins, I collect Lalique crystal. It started with a Christmas ornament in 1990, and spread from there. I have a pretty decent collection ... 14 Christmas ornaments, and about 10 other pieces.

I also collect gem-stones (thanks to Jewelry Television). NOT counting the gems in my jewelry ... I have almost 200 carats of different faceted gem-stones ... and NONE of them came from a gemstone parcel (junk ... IMO).

I have a lot of shoes and handbags ... but I don't really consider them a collection ... ??

Ebay is FABULOUS for collectors BR! I've found several of my discontinued Joan Rivers bee pins on Ebay.

I love Lighthouses. I have lamps, plates that light, plates that don't light, and mostly small replicas of different lighthouses. I don't know what it is about them, but I find them so romantic and I'm just drawn to places that have them. I even have a 14K lighthouse charm that has a lot of sentimental value.

Bee, there are very few things I have ever put into the search on Ebay that I wasn't able to turn up! Even if I didn't get the item, it was there!

I love to get pieces of polish stoneware, (I am Polish) And I consider them collectibles. I do use them, but not a lot.

I also like anything with roosters. It started out with one of those cutting boards on the Q, and it has taken off from there.

Novalee, Lighthouses reflect the ocean and such there is a sereness there. Maybe thats why you like them...

Bee, when I was in Grammar School, my best friend would go to Vt. every summer and bring me back bee pins. I recently found them in my jewelry box at my mothers house. I have been wearing them and I love them!!!

Novalee, my mother collects things with the Lighthouse theme too. She had plates, pictures, small wooden lighthouses etc.

Paula, you're probably right! When hubby wanted to move to the coast, I was right there. In fact, we even got a Lab when we had to say goodbye to our German Shepherds because we figured he would suit our new lifestyle so much better.

BR, by the amount of collectibles available in the lighthouse theme, I figured there must be alot of us around. I bet your Mom and I might even have a few very similar things. :)

I have a weakness for elephant figurines. I have some from Lenox, one from Fenton which I got from QVC, and a lot of cheap ones from different places. I also collect old pennies, the ones with the ferns on the back that say "one cent."

I have some silver dollars and half dollars from my great-grandfather. They date back to the late 1800's. I think they are just great to look at!

BR...LOL!

QVCQ, my favorite aunt collects elephants, too. She is very fussy about the trunk being up! She says it's good luck, but that may just be her!

Hi Paula.....looks like we are three for three....we both like Idol, Shep and polish stoneware. :) Yeah, I have 41 pieces of polish stoneware. I only know this because I just counted, I was curious. That stuff is beautiful! I helped host a party a few days ago and I used alot of my polish stoneware pieces. It makes for a very pretty presentation, as you already must know.

I have a collection of Depression Glass--the pink, green, blue, red, amber, and crystal glassware that everybody's grandmother had in her china closet to use on Sunday and other special occasions. It is fun to buy and pretty to look at.

Collectibles are fun to buy. I call it a great "find" when I am not looking.
I can search E-Bay for hours looking at different items to collect.

QVCQ, I have a gray Royal Dux Elephant with its trunk up. Your aunt would love it!

I live in a small Victorian town with one of the only working cat walk Lighthouses.. It's wonderful out on lake Michigan, the waves wash over it during storms and it is such a sight. Now our town is having an auction on all the hand done lighthouses that are around the town (each one is 5 feet high) ..Just light the cows that were in Chicago only we did light houses..When you shop here you will find hundreds of Lighthouses...I don't collect them, but I do collect mermaids and old garden statues...If you go to my website you will see pictures of the Lighthouse...gailsgarden.com

Chauncer, that was so sweet of you to take the time to post here. I have never been to Michigan, but the lighthouse you described sounds so cool, and your town sounds like something out of a book! So far my favorite lighthouse has been the Cape Hatteras light. We were able to climb to the top and go out onto the observation deck, and it was an experience I will never forget. Then they moved it to what some consider a safer place, but it has just never been the same. Thank you, again, I am definitely visiting your website!

Update: I went to the website and browsed, but it's definitely one to check out slowly. Thanks again, Chauncer, you have some really beautiful pictures there. I just love your furbabies, too!

The Polish Stoneware, was that on QVC today? If so, the pieces are beautiful!! I'll take one of each, please.

I saw that, too, and it is beautiful! I bet you could mix that in with any existing pieces.

Funny, I've never seen Polish Stoneware before and then the other day, it was on. The pieces would easily mix and match with others.

Novalee, something else to buy? lol

BR, unfortunately for me, yes...LOL I have some stoneware dinnerware in solid colors, and I was thinking that the Polish stoneware would mix and match beautifully with them! I love stoneware, anyhow, it's just warm and homey to me, so spicing it up would be so much fun!
