Well, here we go again. Hurricane Dennis is on the horizon. I will begin worrying when HSN goes to one broadcast instead of two! If they go off the air completely, I will start praying!

Batten down the hatches...and it gets too out of hand, throw the old aerobed in the car and head for sunny (okay, foggy) California. I'll leave the porch light on!

Puddy,
Does the hurricane have as much "oomph" as a pressure washer?
I thought of you when I saw the warnings. Are you guys OK? Did you have to evac?

It was 'freshening' a bit this afternoon. I will wait and see what tomorrow brings!
Thanks for the 'porch light' comment!!! :)
puddy,
What part of Florida are you in? I pray for everyone in Dennis' path!!

Central Florida on the Gulf Coast. It seems to be skimming by us and going north to the Panhandle.

Puddy--I am in Orlando and really glad this is passing us by. I feel bad for everyone in the path of Dennis. It is way too early in the season for all this.
Blessings,
Dallas

Thank you! I thought you were in Texas!
Weather just amazes me. I have been glued to the TV.
I hope you are safe, puddy and others in Dennis' path.

Like I said, if HSN goes off the air completely, I will worry! Other than that, no problem!

Do we need to send care packages of Spam and Poptarts?

No, but send the Spam any way! Low sodium, please. I LOVE SPAM!
So does Puddy...

Let me get this straight...
If Dallas is in Orlando, does that mean I can see the Cowboys when I go to Disneyworld???

P.S. to Jenna: You can send me the poptarts. Never mind that it's a sunny day here with not a cloud in the sky. Those chocolate sundae ones look yummy. The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast, eh?

P.P.S. to Jenna: Do you get any Cincinnati TV stations?

I read this thread to see if people were kidding. I love Spam, also. My kids think that is the funniest thing in the world and do imitations of barfing. I eat the light now, too. My grocery just had a discount price and a coupon, too, for buying three. I will be in heaven and if we do have a weather crisis there will be something to eat, however bad for you.
It is glorious in Pennsylvania today and apparently Dennis, or whatever is left of it when it gets this far north, is going west of here. We did get a lot of rain from the previous storm, but we needed it badly. Our temperature is over 90 today but humidity is low and there is a wonderful breeze. My airconditioning is off and we are comfortable. A most unusual day for summer in the steam bath known as the north eastern USA.
My heart is with Puddy and any other posters who are in harms way. It looks absolutely dreadful.

Puddy,
Hang on there!!!!!!!!! Literally!!!
And, I love all you spam lovers. I personally think it's "..yucky!" But, it is good to know that some people actually like it besides my brother.

When I was a kid, I used to love to open the can of Spam (not eat it, mind you). I thought it was soooo cool with that key and everything. I understand there's no key anymore. Spamlovers, is that true? I also remember the weird "gel-like" substance that surrounded it. Is that still there?
Good luck and stay safe to those in Dennis' path!

Somebody PLEASE tell us exactly what chemical formula makes that jel around the spam? I've often wondered myself, though I won't eat the stuff. BTW: don't worry about HSN. I remember that it was either last year or the year before during a very bad hurricane, HSN closed up their Florida operation for a few days and headed north to Tennessee and broadcast out of there from a rented studio. I recall that they sold mostly jewelry and Bill Green said that they went
there with a skeleton crew and just a few hosts who were on for a couple of hours, slept for a couple of hours, and so on.

Curvigirl--You can see the Cowboys if you come to my house. They are my favorite football team and we have a room full of the cowboys pictures, etc. My husband is a big Cowboy fan too. That is why I picked the name Dallas. Football season is big at my house. We just love it.
Blessings,
Dallas
