Has anyone tried Spanx?

I've been thinking about ordering Spanx power panties, and was wondering if anyone has tried them. I've tried other body shapers and not been happy. I find that they kind of push everything up and create an even bigger midriff bulge than I already have (not a good mental image, I know...). I heard Oprah raving about Spanx. Any Spanx-ers out there?

I ordered a pair to specially wear with a clingy knit dress. I didn't like the way I looked in the dress. I want to be firm..... I know this is silly but it was too much....It pulled the butt in but did nothing for the front. I sent them back...........

Thanks, Acura. I really need it for the stomach area, so it helps to know it didn't do anything for you in the front. I don't want to spend the money if it's not going to work.

I use the Legacy shapers and they have worked just fine. I've been tempted to buy Spanx but wondered if there is that great of a difference - besides the price!

I ordered that Carol Wier girdle. I love it. It isn't sooooooo tight. I think I could have gone down a size. I also like the material better. It is more like a girdle. I was also concerned about runs with the Spanx. I also ordered Legacy mths. ago. I gave them to my girlfriend. I ordered by height and weight but my thighs were too big for those!!!

I have a friend who swears by Spanx. She loves them. Personally, I wear the Lipo in a Box (high waist). It's very comfortable. It comes up all the way to under your bra so you don't get midriff bulge from it. And it doesn't roll down. If you decide to get it, order it smaller than you think. I made that mistake first and had to send it back. I wear the long leg under slacks and the brief under shorts (both high waist). They make a big difference.

That is good to know Bubs. I have been considering that. It just seemed too much for me. Meaning the overall look. I need it, it just looked cumbersome.
