Has anyone been to the QVC store in the Great Mall? Not that I plan to visit Minnesota anytime soon, but I've been wondering if they somehow tack on "handling" charges to the items in the store. Or even if it is worthwhile visiting?

For that matter, I know there are a couple QVC "outlet" stores in the east. Has anyone been to them? Worth it?

Thanks! --Mockers

I am going to Myrtle Beach next week and I believe there is a QVC outlet store there. If I can find it, I'll report back.

There's an outlet store in Frazer, PA as well. It's hit or miss, just like I think every outlet store is. Most of the items seem to be decently discounted, so I don't think they add handling costs, but since the store in the Mall of AMerica is first-run stuff, they may handle it differently.

MAMMY, there is an outlet store in Myrtle Beach. It is not hard to find it is right off the main road( 501) near Waccamaw Pottery..which is now closed. They have a lot of stuff that may have been returned or diccontinued, or didn't have enough to present on camera. It is hit or miss as to what you find there...but it is fun to actually see and feel stuff you only saw on tv. Hope you hit it on a good day!!

Welcome, Mockers!

They don't tack on shipping charges at the QVC Store at the Mall of America. They charge the same price as they do on air. They have a large sampling of items that QVC sells on air from cookware and kitchen items, jewelry, beauty products, clothing, household items, etc. There is no sales tax on clothing. They have computers set up for use if you can't find what you want in the store. They have the TSV available to purchase instead of waiting 7-10 days to receive it. It's worth visiting because you never know what you will find.

Hi all,

I have been to the Fraser & Lancaster outlet stores, as well as, the one in Wilmington, Delware, and I agree it is hit or miss.

BUT, if you hit it right, you can save lots of money, esp when they have their 50% off sales, on clothing, shoes & accesories...

I was at the Q outlet in Estero Beach last year. It was a giant rummage sale. Half the stuff was in damaged boxes or had obviously been used. I have been told since then that this location cleaned up their act. It wasn't worth the trip in..However...and this is for our beloved Ms. Nova the COACH outlet was right next door!

I live 30 minutes from the Mall of America. The QVC store is small, but you'll see a nice selection of things. No shipping or handling. You can buy right there. Be sure to wear some good walking shoes. The mall is the size of 25 football fields! :-)

I have been to the QVC Outlet store in near Fort Meyers, Florida. They sold the older items and a lot of them were obviously returns sent back to them. The prices were in my opinion not that much marked down. I did, however, purchase two solid perfume compacts of Tova's line. They cost about $15.00 a piece if I remember correctly. But they did have a nice variety of things.
I am new to this thread. I love reading it.

Thanks, everyone, for your response. I guess it is like anything else, you have to be careful and get lucky on a certain day. Just like when I talk to women who look great and they tell me they got all their stuff from thrift stores. How come _I_ can't find stuff like that? [sigh]

At least I know now that I'm not missing too much by not living closer (although I DO have a friend in Myrtle Beach! Hmmm....)

Thanks again!
