He's an excellent choice, but in the looks department, he's not my "cuppa"....

I agree with Sparks. He looks like he goes to the same barber as Trent Lott. If he left off some of the hair goo and went with a more fluffy do, he would look so much better.
Still not my type, though. Waaaay too conservative.

I've definitely got to agree with Sparks and Jas. Not my cuppa says it all!

Not my type either...... Now I have a "crush" on my son's football coach....hahahah (totally different opinion from a Chief Justice)...

I never really looked at the man, next time he is on the news, I will have to check him out.

True - he isn't THEE most handsome man, but as far as judges go....I'll take him. I like his quiet demeanor and sense of humor.

NW Girl - I'm not looking to make a trade-in right now ... however as you say, demeanor and a sense of humor go a long way ... PLUS

*he is good looking enough to produce cute children, but not a glamour puss who gets fawned over or fawns over himself,
*he has enough income that he wouldn't be a bloodsucker & he sure as heck has job security, hahaha!
*he is extremely intelligent so he'd be adequate for rich conversation and one wouldn't end up having to explain the headlines, jokes, innuendo or cryptic comments to him,
*he is well-bred: excellent manners, probably good hygiene and decent taste (ie: good gifts from him or even better maybe he'd delegate it to a female law clerk),
*and finally, it is often the quiet, smart ones who make the wildest, most fun lovers, JMO

A few facts about Juicy Judicial John:

1) He married his wife Jane in 1996 - both were 41 at the time of their marriage. (Frankly, I don't know what he sees in her, but that is the catty woman coming out in me :)
2) His two children (Jack and Josie) are adopted.
3) He is a devout Catholic
4) He mows his own lawn; and,
5) I've been spending far too much time researching his background!

NWGirl - Ha! You are too funny! Now let's see what decisions "Jumpin' Bones Judge John" hands down. That'll be the true test. Take care. Gini

I didn't really need that mouthful of coffee, anyhow! No kidding, their hair looks like that brown plastic lump on the top of the old Ken and GE Joe dolls. lol

He doesn't appeal to me at all. His hair looks like if you looked underneath, you'd find a heap of paste. As for his nomination, it scares the living daylights out of me. There should be more of a balance. JMO

I'm not sure if it's true and I haven't researched it, but I thought his kids were those "icicle" babies or whatever they're called, where they are adopted frozen embryos that Bush had a little party for not long ago, in order to shore up support for banning stem cell funding.

That's nice and all, but I'd rather see already born kids that need adoption get chosen before creating new ones just to prove a point.
