(oh wait, I can get this on topic by end of post)

Face transplants? Creepy? Scary? Frankenstein? "Face/Off" good movie!

As everyone knows I am never off of "outpatient" status at Cleveland Clinic.

What y'all don't know about this "lab" (this a rant for another time) is that there is a building and I cannot remember what "letter" it is. It is there for specifically creating things. Horrible things, animal experiments, keeping limbs alive a host of gory things. Yes, I do realize that some of this research is beneficial and much needed. But a lot of it is ungodlike (sorry...it bothers me) activity.

What you don't know is that they have done THREE of these already. One patient died and I haven't heard about the other two yet. In extreme cases for burn victims and other pathogens and genetic disfigurements, I agree. But you know, someone like Jocelyn W. is going to want a new "cat face" and go hunting after people to get the "hide". This is wrong on so many levels.

And to bring on topic and add some humor. Imagine while you are recovering from your "transplant'. How much new make up you will need. Will you need the "facial flex" to keep your new mug in shape? How much BE? What wil lyour new pores look like. do you have to change the color palatte completley? Will you still have chin hairs? I could on...but I won't.

If I remember correctly, I think it was CNN had an article about this... I thought that it was very strange and wondered, what part of the human body wouldnt be able to be transplanted...

I can see it on very rare circumstances, but even then that is if all else fails that has tried to be done....

A long time ago, I read a book about a gorgeous woman whose brain was transplanted into an ordinary-looking woman's body after an accident. It was interesting the transition she had to make gettting used to not being beautiful, and how her husband handled it, too. The husband of the ordinary woman didn't handle it very well, either because he couldn't grasp that it wasn't his wife any more. I think they made a tv movie out of it, but my menopausal brain won't recall the name.

OMG! I remember that book! I think it was a cheesy Lifetime movie. The book was better. I remember thinking at that time that the premise of that story freaked me out. Wasn't there something about the husband(s) being freaked out about it too?
