Ballard's to HSN

I cannot believe it. This is one of my favorite casual elegance home decor catalogs and they will now be appearing on HSN. Now it cheapens it for me. I know I am a snob and must get over it, but it just doesn't seem right.

I agree that there is something less than upscale about HSN. However, I do notice that they seem to be changing and trying to bring in more credible, fashionable vendors. THere used to be a big difference in my eyes between the merchandise on QVC and HSN~ now they are kind of blending together.

QVC will ALWAYS be more upscale than HSN, they have been from the start. I remember flipping channels as a teenager and being completely turned off by the hosts yelling when presenting the merchandise. I flat out refuse to order anything from HSN. They have no style or finesse of their own. They've always emulated QVC.

I've done a lot of ordering from Ballard over the years too HHIgirl ... I actually have a $25 coupon right now ... ready to be used ... I'm hoping their visibility on HSN will be limited!

I received the coupon for participating in a survey by Ballard. One of the many questions were which tv shopping network do you watch/buy from most often. I said QVC of course!!! I've tried and tried to give HSN a chance ... I just don't care for their products ... so cheap!

Sparks ROTHFL - I always thought HSN's merchandise looked cheesy and cheap. I always do a drive by hoping maybe there might be something on there I have to have but I have never found anything.

Downstairs I have a rather large box of ??? which arrived from Ballards several days ago. Knowing that they will soon be on HSN makes me question my own judgement in ordering whatever it is I ordered. Truly.

I so love this catalog. And it totally cheapens it for me showing up on the channel that is tantamount to the "Mart" stores in my mind. I know HSN is trying but I just can't get past there "cheese" factor. It always reminds of the old "PTL" channel with Jim and Tammy Fae.
