I was bored and just happened to check out the shoe selection over on the HSN web-site ... and I found many surprisingly cute things to choose from!

Anybody have any experience with any of their brands? I've seen Brandolino before, but for the most part ... I've never heard of any of the other brands.

I'm SERIOUS ... CUTE SHOES!!!!

Bee, I went and looked and I recognize Etienne Aigner, Born and Yellow Box as quality names. HSN seems to be a little more fashionable than the Q lately.
I just ran across a great sale and some cool new fall fashions on Nordstrom.com. You can't beat them for quality and service. They have a lot of purses half price, too.

I believe the Q gets "special shoes" made differently from the same brands found in the stores, at least in some cases. I cannot have anything manmade actually touching my foot. Most shoes from the Q have manmade insoles or such. The Bandolinos I got from HSN had a leather upper but weird non-leather lining underneath the leather, next to the foot. Aerosoles sandals were the exception to this. Good luck.

Bee, funny title for this thread...wasn't sure what to expect, but then I could totally relate when I read your post. Seems as though HSN is trying to get more brand names... I know they have Urban Decay cosmetics, and my friend mentioned that her co-worker bought some Bandolino items from them. I believe Bandolino is part of the Nine West companies.

For me, I don't know if it is that HSN seems to get better w/the more quality items, or if the "more quality" items lose credibility...

I am having flashbacks of that host Lynn Murphy wearing a witch hat and Halloween-themed clothing while trying to sell a bedding set last night. How dreadful.

Quick! ASAP! STAT!
An vial of injectable "taste" for BEEE! Just kidding. I found some cute things there too. And I was horrified. It made me dive for the NM catalog just to make sure I had not lost my impecable taste and candidacy for HRHM tiara!

LA- You are correct about the shoe companies making shoes just for the shopping channels. They also make "lesser" lines for Kohl's, Target, Wal-Mart and the like.

When I was still living in retail land. We would have HUGE meetings in NYC or LA twice a year about marketing, styles, trends, colors, no-no's etc. At that time there were only 3 HUGE shoe companies and every other "line" was from one of the big three. I cannot remember how it went. I know it was Sperry, Stride Rite...I cannot remeber the "tree". I was actually trying to find my binder (yes I keep crap) from this particual round table so I could share my knowledge.

HSN IS gaining on QVC. I still don't think I could order. BUT now with really cool companies (e.g. Ballard's ) coming on board I just might take the chance.

PS: Hellokitty. Your avatar and signature line make me smile everytime I see it!

lol ... ok Jenna, POINT MADE! :-)

I'm a heel girl, the only time I'm not wearing heels is when I'm walking/working out. I doubt I would ever buy anything from HSN (my past experiences have proven me a fool every time), but man ... those $79 prices sound FABULOUS compared to what I typically spend ... you can't blame a girl for trying!

The man-made stuff really is bad ... thanks ladies for slapping me awake! :-)

BEE!
Repeat after me: Christian Louboutin!
Please refer to page 98 of the lastest issue of NM:The Designer Collection.

And there is nothing worse than buying shoes that have those horrid rubber soles. EWWW! They make me trip ( although we all know I don't walk so swell to begin with) and the appearance just cheapens the overall art of the shoe "sculpture". lol

You know, I have to agree with you about HSN gaining ground on QVC. I am frightened to say that they do seem to have more stylish things on lately. I absolutely refused to give them the time of day until Kim Parrish was coming aboard. More because I liked her, I liked her style and I wanted to know what designs she would come up with. Anyway, I haven't actually ordered, but I have been tempted. For instance, I've noticed they have some stylish jeans...didn't order but way better than the Q's AEIOU approach. Some actually have low rise and boot cut or flare. Not to mention the dresses from ABS---I have no need for them, but they are stylish and much better than the potato sacks that the Q usually sells.

And Hello Kitty, not that this is an excuse, but that witch hat was a leftover from the Storybook Knits hour right before. It was a Halloween theme thing. Again, not an excuse just an explanation.

HSN has come up with some decent shoe names lately, but I have not been tempted. I live within a few miles of a strip mall that has both a DSW Shoe Warehouse and a Famous Footwear in it, so all of my shoe shopping (and that is a lot) stays local!

HHIgirl - off-topic (sorry) Did you read the blurb & see photo of Patti Hansen & daughters in latest NM 'The Book'. The girls look like Richards but more like their mom! I like the point "cool vs. trying too hard". p. 50-1 LA-CAgirl3

HHIgirl - Just going through some mail & found the little "Designer Collection" book. Page 98. Whoa! Now those are some knockout shoes! Does one need to untie the bow? Probably just slip in and in my case, fall on butt. Cannot do 5" heels ... even though the platform mitigates to maybe 4 1/2 ". Haha! I could do p. 46 heels & style. Hope your day is going well. Gee - yes, I did see that there was the Storybook Knits on before the presentation, and I did figure that, but I must agree w/those of you that say it seems as HSN is gaining on QVC, and that upsets me SO MUCH! So, I needed to come up w/something, and that was the best I could come up w/at that time. (Although it did bug me - if QVC is done w/a segment, I don't think they would carry it over, especically going from a Halloween clothing segment to items for the bedroom).

Once HSN had their TS, and it was a Kodak EasyShare camera; well let me tell you that disappointed me sooo much because I had a Kodak digital camera (for those of you into digi cameras, it was my first one, and I don't use it all that often, and it was a great price...that's why I chose Kodak). I didn't want HSN selling a product I had! BOOOOO!

I know, being drama again!

HHIgirl - I'm glad it makes you smile. I love her. She is so simple yet adorable. And I didn't want to get in trouble, so I had to credit the company! :) :)

Are not those shoes spectacularly outrageous? All I could think of was Elton John when I saw those. Bee actually bought a stunning pair of CL's for easter. That pair was much more to my liking. I SO miss the day I could wear heels. But navigating on crutches with heels is asking for trouble!

I am sporting my pink "hello kitty" slippers right now. I wear kids sizes so I have slippers, tennis shoes and sandals!

My 64 year old mom wants a "hello kitty" change purse of wallet for her 65th bday. Which is really funny because she is more of a "label 'ho" than me!

I looked on the HSN board, and all it really seems to be is analysis of all the female hosts.

So, I concluded it must either be a)that is the board where the guys who post go to discuss hotness levels of the TV shopping hosts, or b) the products on HSN are just not worth reviewing, so there is nothing left to discuss?

The HSN board when I first went there was mainly a ghost board. Not as bad as the Texas Justice board but not far from it. You would see at the bottom threads dated from almost a year from the ones at the top.

Hello kitty, i agree too. There are a few things that I would comment on about HSN, but the board seems to be men talking about the women. I generally stay away for that reason. If I had something really dire to post about HSN, I would much rather post it here. I think I would at least get a response...LOL...and not about a hosts feet either!!!
