I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ricky Martin, but am kind of embarrassed to admit it. Also like listening to my old ASIA and ELO tapes when nobody else is around ... lol
Anybody else have any of these little secrets they want to let slip?

I love Clay Aiken from American Idol. Not in a romantic way, just as a mom. I know he's dorky, but there's something about him. Maybe because I never had a son.
I also love Hall & Oates a lot and I used to listen to the Little River Band and Air Supply.

I love Clay Aiken, Spandau Ballet, Air Supply, Paula Abdul and The Go Go's. I play their music in the middle of the day when I know my neighbors are all gone to work. Afterall, I wouldn't want my neighbors to think I was strange. LOL

I don't have a son, but I have a son-in-law who is a musician.
Here's his band's website:
SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMwww.myspace.com/mayhemstringband
He's the one playing the banjo. I'm not wild about bluegrass, but apparently they are pretty good. He goes to law school by day and plays music at night.
If you look is his friends pic area, you'll see an orange kitten, that's my daughter's page link. Her page is pretty cool.

Yes, Garnet, it does. It was she that turned me on to him, though. She does get her free spirit from me, though. We are very much alike except in our musical taste!
Did you see the pics she has from our Alaska cruise? They are ab-fab.

Oh so many to name. Old school Duran Duran (which, btw, I recently found out that bassist John Taylor is married to one of the co-founders of the Juicy Couture line!), lots of random songs by various artists - one post reminded me of that song "True" by Spandau Ballet.
Bootilicious will always be dear to me and my friends...LOVE Kelly Clarkson and Brit before she went downhill so fast...there is a movie w/Jason Lee (brain fart) where they sang Islands in the Stream. You know I downloaded that to my Ipod as soon as I heard it...I love to belt out Elton John's "I Guess thats why They Call It the Blues" when I'm alone.
Too many too name. I'd bore you all to tears. But believe me, I def have embarassing musical taste. It's what makes me me.

I like Barry Manilow. :)
Funny story--AussieMr. lifts weights in our basement and listens to his homemade CDs while he's at it. Well, one day I walk in the house and blaring up from the basement is--AIR SUPPLY. He's got some very eclectic taste when it comes to music, but I suppose I do, too. Oh, I think the next song on the CD was AC/DC's 'TNT'. :0
Oh, Jasmine, I just went to that website and saw the cruise pics--gorgeous! You're a beauty, too. You and your daughter looked like you had a great time. Did just the two of you go, or did ya take the fellas along with you?
If I hear Saturday Night Fever on the radio, I turn it up and start to DANCE!!
I still enjoy 70's and 80's music if I am changing the stations.
Will workout to Ricky Martin Living La Vita Loco!!!!

Not terribly embarrassing, but I've always had a soft spot for novelty songs:
Spike Jones; "Cocktails for Two."
Clarence "Frogman" Henry; "Ain't Got A Home."
Anything by Weird Al Yancovic.
Joe Dolce; "Ah Shaddup You Face."
Jump-N-The-Saddle; "The Curly Shuffle."
Sir Elton John; "Ho! Ho! Ho! (Who'd Be A Turkey At Christmas)."
Wooley Sheb; "One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater."
Jimi Hendrix; "The Stars That Play With Lauging Sam's Dice."
The Beatles; "You Know My Name, Look up the Number."
John Entwistle; "Boris the Spider."
Quite a few of these were million (or more) sellers; several were B sides to singles (and thus technically also million-sellers); and one is a "signature" tune.
Which proves that raising a smile can be "good for business!!!"

Okay~ Here's what my husband is always teasing me about:
I go back and forth with CD's in my changer , or on my i-pod like these
Skid Row's "Slave to the Grind"
right into
"O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana
back to "Who By Numbers"
followed by Handel's "Sarabande"
back to Quadrophenia
Then Journey's " Only The Young"
and now with the approach of the Christmas season, I'll start with my Medieval Christmas Carols and all the boys' choirs......
My neighbors think I'm "barmy" as well......

Jennifer--I partied with Alice Cooper in my early high school years. (He wasn't Alice then, he was Vince, and in retrospect he was way too old to be hanging out with "jail bait," but there he was!)

P.S. In re-reading my post, I feel compelled to point out that (a) he was indeed already Alice, we just didn't realize it at the time as he left the eyeliner at home, and (b) by saying "partied" and "jail bait" in the same paragraph, I do not wish to imply any impropriety on the part of the chaste and respectable young Curvigirl. :)

I'm not at all embarrassed about it, but few of my peers know of her . . . I LUV Chaka Kahn! I'm ordering her greatest hits for my Christmas stocking this year, lol.
Got such a kick from reading your list, Sparks! DH teases me, too, for the same reason.
When at home (houses are *very* far apart and no one can hear), I'll blast the following, but not necessarily in this order:
Annie Lennox (Diva or Medusa)
Gloria Lynne (Gloria, Marty & Strings)
Sarah McLachlan (Mirrorball)
David Gray (White Ladder)
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (LUV, LUV, LUV Déjà Vu)
Anita Baker (Greatest Hits)
Marshall Tucker (Fire on the Mountain)
Stevie Nicks (Trouble in Shangri-La)
Van Morrison (Greatest Hits)
Gospel music never fails to lift my spirits. Right now I'm listening to Ruben Studdards "I Need an Angel," and I love it, but I'm sure it's not for everyone.
My favorite and can't-do-without CD is Kristine W's "Land of the Living." LUV this CD! I play it over and over and over! (Great dance music, too!)

I normally am a classic rock freak (Doors, Beatles, Who, Zep, etc) but I also listen to Weird Al Yankovic as well. His music makes me laugh. Plus I like some country music and I watch VH-1 Country sometimes on my digital cable package. The gamut of videos on that channel can go from topical (Martina McBride's "Concrete Angel" video is very sad and touching about child abuse) to patriotic (Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue") to the party videos . I love Brooks & Dunn "You Can Take The Girl Out Of The Honky Tonk" which features Marilu Henner. The video is about a wild girl named Connie who comes home for her cousin's wedding and proceeds to shake things up. It's one of the best music videos I've ever seen. Btw, Marilu doesn't play Connie; She plays the uptight mother of the bride. --- "Hey Mister! Can You Spell Shit" -D.B. Sweeney (8 Men Out)

Btw, besides those songs; I just happen to like Big & Rich. I even got their CD; A Horse of a Different Color. Their video for "Big Time" is very entertaining. They even spoofed the cover of the Beatles "Abbey Road". Their motto is LOVE EVERYBODY & the whole CD is a mixture of rowdy outlaw country, rap, heavy metal and love ballards. --- "Hey Mister! Can You Spell Shit?" -D.B. Sweeney (8 Men Out)
