Lately I've been wanting that dewy look and I'm not quite sure how to achieve it. When I see products on TV or in magazines, they're always in a cream or gel form. Well, I use BE foundation and am not sure how a cheek stain or cream would work with that. I was watching the Smashbox show and they had on the Illuminating Power...for $65 and change...YIKES. It looked like a nice effect, but I'm not willing to pay that. Does anybody have any tricks or products they use to get That Dewy Look? Thanks!

Hi Missy, I got the Smashbox highlighter palette with the TSV they had a month or so ago. I really like that for a dewy look that's not shimmery. It goes well on top of the mineral powder because it's not real creamy or oily. I have gotten complements since I started putting a little on my cheeks! Another thing I like comes from the health food store. It's TwinLab NAPCA spray mist moisturizer. It's cheap and refreshing!

Recipe = Get up @ 4:30AM and run outside. Next step is to "lay down" and then roll around quickly in the grass. Worked wonders for my dog!
Sorry Missy, your post was begging for an answer like that ;-)

I think you might want to look into mousse-like foundations and blushes.

Is there an ad in particular that you are referring too, AussieMrs?

Hi Missy,

I would be a bit skeptical of the powder you saw especially at that price. From what I have seen in the mags, you want the dewy look in key places like the cheeks. Powder would scare me because I would be afraid that my whole face my end up illuminated! LOL! Anyway, I agree with Jasmine. I also got the Smashbox TSV last month. The highlighting quad is the bomb. It goes over powder foundation fine. A smidge will do ya and you get four colors. I might try that. I have also received several compliments lately. People can't seem to figure out how I achieved the look.

Hope this helps,

Aloysius, haha, you're too funny...lol

BR, no ad in particular, I just love that look, so natural--especially with the dry winter weather coming soon.

Gee, thanks so much for the info and the item number. I was actually going to ask Jasmine for it when I had a chance. I think I may give it a try. Jas or Gee (or anybody else who knows), is it a powder or a cream-to-powder? How do you apply it? Thanks!

Gee, I was totally skeptical about the $65 stuff. Oh, btw, I loved Toy Story 2, cute avatar!

Missy, it's kind of a cream, but not gooey creamy and it doesn't turn to a powder. The closest thing I can think of is kind of like a creamy wax. You can put it on with your fingers, or you could use a sponge if you wanted to. I have put it on my lips for a stain look or put clear gloss over it.
I think you would really love it. You don't have to worry about it being cakey or looking slippery like J-Lo or Britney, either! :O

Sounds good, Jas, thanks. I went to the Smashbox website and couldn't even find it. Maybe it's one of those QVC 'exclusives'. I did find plenty of them on Ebay, though. I think I am going to try this out.
