Since in my earlier post I noted how unimpressed I was by the Chesapeake Bay Crabcakes (thanks to all who posted on the good crab, where to score it & the recipes), I began thinking of the decent stuff QVC offers, & I wondered....what is the best item you ever bought from QVC?
For me, it's the Northern Nights items. The sheet sets are a good value & the only sheets than fit my bed with the pillowtop mattress AND the memory foam topper on it. The down comforters are also the only ones that don't aggravate my allergies. Must be the hypercleaning. :) My husband used to give me grief over buying the 300+ threadcount sheets, the comforters, etc., now he's so used to how comfortable our bed is, when we go on vacation & has to sleep in another bed, he just hates it.

I love jewelry and have many gemstone rings and a few necklaces and bracelets with gemstones which I adore. The quality is good, the designs very traditional and gem color good. Also enjoy the gold, 14 and 18K, I have purchased from the Q.

It may not be the best but my favorite was the Sterling Silver Kathy Levine Heart Ring.....

I LOVE my kitchen aid mixer ... and I LOVE the price I paid!!! :-)
I also have a few pieces of the Art DeOro gold pieces that I am thrilled with! They rival Cartier every day of the week!

LOVE my new pink suede-like jacket I ordered from PM style.
People constantly ask where I got if from. Favorite color is pink, and haven't seen such a pretty, soft shade in a coat in my neck of the woods.

Out of everything I've bought, the best item is a round plastic disk with a separate cloth cover that makes it so easy to roll out pie crust. I have not had good luck with the clothes and usually send them back. Susan Graver's stuff looks cheap, oversized and shapeless to me. Denim and Co. is a good fit, though.

Pebbles,
Love the Denim & Co. too.
I sometimes scour the thrift stores in my area, usually hunting for different types of glass to paint on, and I always laugh when I come across a piece of Susan Graver's line, which happens more than you can imagine.
Having seen some of the clothes up close and personal now, I wouldn't think that the "less fortunate" would want to be sporting them either, even for a "bargain" price!! Very tacky clothing!! LOL!

A long, lined Denim & Co. Jacket...I wear it everywhere, it washes and dries in the machine, holds up like iron, fits perfectly. The second best thing I ever ordered from QVC was one of those bags for carrying toiletries with all the plastic compartments inside and all the zippers outside--you are supposed tofill it and hang it up in the bath so you have everything together. I use mine for my camera and equipment--the plastic compartments keep everything dry--I have separate space for various lenses, the camera, batteries, memory cards, cords to attach the camera to the TV or computer, lens cleaning equipment, etc. What a find!

My favorite thing I've bought on the Q is a sterling silver opaque gemstone bracelet (J01023) I get more compliments on it!!

Pebbles, I have that dough disc cover too....love it...I only use it maybe twice a year but it really works. But I think the best thing I ever bought is the 5 stone diamonique wedding band, with the small round stones. Its very 'believable', I get lots of compliments on it and it looks as good today as the day I bought it probably over 10 years ago...

Hmmm...I have a sterling silver bead bracelet w/magnetic closure that I LOVE LOVE LOVE! I just hate polishing it, but it doesn't need to be polished all that much.
And I did discover BE on QVC, and after initially not liking it, it finally works w/me and I'm so happy I found it!

I guess I'd have to say my best buy was the Cook's Essentials Hard Anodized Aluminum set. Since I couldn't afford All Clad, this was a compromise for me. But it has been great! 2 years now, and nothing ever burns any more. A great buy.

I purchased the Cobra Navigational System a few weeks ago for my husband for his birthday. I love him but he couldn't find his way out of a paper bag. I knew we were planning a trip to Alabama to see Joel Osteen and I thought perfect trip to try it out. I love it!!! I was going back and forth between investing in the portable one and have one installed. I happened to be watching in the wee morning and they had it as a super bargain price. I saved about $200 and they had a rebate. We have used it several times and it works great!
The D&B Donegal Crest tote with the accesories!

I just got the Flavia Fusion Drink Station Single Cup Brewer.
It comes with a travel mug and assorted filterpacks. But you can use any standard size coffee cup or mug. With the press of a button, you can just make one cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea, and you can also add the frothy creamer or cocoa filterpack to make your own fancy coffee-house style drink.
When it's finished brewing, you just toss the empty filterpack away and all you have left to clean is your cup or mug. (My favorite feature.) LOL!
It even comes with assorted syrup packs and chocolate and cinnamon sprinkles.
The only down side is you have to purchase additional filterpacks from Flavia but it's easy since you can either order with their toll-free phone number or from their website. I just ordered their Milky Way Swirl filterpacks.....can't wait to try them. (Flavia is owned by Mars, the candy company.)

Mockers, I also really like Cook's Essentials! According to Mr. Bob Bowersocks, Consumer Reports rated it super fabulous! Or something to that effect....

I have had excellent luck with Denim & Company. Everything I have from the line works well for me and they really last. I love white metal. There is no place on earth with the selection of silver jewelry that the Q has. I have no complaints about anything I have and I have a lot.
Also, anyone remember T-fal. I bought a set more years ago than I can remember and it is all still fine. It was a good purchase.

I don't really care what Consumer Reports says. I query Usenet and get much better info from the folks there. It's been my observation over the years that Consumer Reports only tests the "middle of the road" products. Never high end stuff.

I think the ratings for Cooks Essentials were inflated primarily due to the volume of product sold. QVC does huge volume and they have more or less a monopoly. The amount sold with no competition makes them look better than they are. I have a couple of the stainless 500 or whatever it is called. The ones that can go into the oven at high temperatures. They are nice. However, I am going back to real cooking without the non-stick surface. I worry about that.

I am, too, to a small extent. Heh, I recently bought 2 pieces of the Cook's Essentials Titanium Ti line. My rice pilaf comes out like a dream, don't need nonstick for that. I'm still working on my brown-meat-then-make-a-sauce technique. Practice, practice! Ha! Good thing I live alone....
