I watched it and found it very interesting! The Dahli Lama (if I butchered the spelling please forgive me) was so cute! He giggled thru most of the interview.
I found it very interesting how different groups of Muslims interpret the Quran. She sat with a man in prison who was caught after a failed suicide bombing, and his sect of believers think you become a martyr by doing these suicide bombings, therefore going to Paradise and having 72 virgins. She then spoke with a Muslim professor (I think) who said the Quran does not approve of suicide in any manner.
I missed it........I started watching it but then got a little "spooked" maybe??
I will research and read more on line.

I love the book/movie "The 5 People You Meet in Heaven." I forgot the BW special was on until it was half over. I wish they would do a re-run.

Mammy, I loved that movie, too. I think it was a Hallmark production. I never read the book, but I loved Jon Voight's performance. Naturally, I cried. lol

Mammy and Novalee, last year when we watched 'The Five People You Meet in Heaven', I bawled like a baby and so did my hubby. It's out on DVD now; I just saw it at Target. I only caught about a half hour of the show last night. I hope they put it on again.
There was an article about Barbara's interviews with the various religious leaders on this subject in Reader's Digest (either this month's or last month's).

I fell asleep just as it was starting!! I did wake up to see Barbara asking the Dali Lama if she could give him a kiss on the cheek! He was very sweet!
I hope they replay it again too....I knew I should have popped a tape in!!
