Looking to lose a little weight? Then you might want to pick up "Shine: A Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Journey to Finding Love," the new book from Star Jones Reynolds, in which she not only opens up about shedding 150 pounds but gushes about the awe-inspiring virility of husband Al Reynolds, a surefire appetite killer if there ever was one.

"The first time he held me in his arms sexually, it was almost frightening because we knew our erotic interest in each other could take over every other thing," the "View" co-host writes breathlessly (as excerpted by People and the New York Post). "... We had an intoxicatingly sexual connection the first two months of our relationship."

This has been one hell of a night! I have peed and laughed until I cried. This one just made me actually barf!

The only "erotic interest" her hubby obviously had was in her bank account.

Pretty sure any eroticism is NOT reserved for her.

Sooooo ...... Star says that they had an "intoxicatingly sexual connection the first two months of our relationship". And THEN what happened ?? Guess she ran out of Rohypnol (the "date-rape" drug).

I wonder which of the Fab Four gay guys he was thinking about to get through that ordeal?Any money he gets out of her he earned the hard way.

When people talk about banning books maybe they should start with this one...anything associated with Star Jones Reynolds HAS to be the work of the devil.

Just had to bump this one due to the excellent commentary. Let's see if we can get some more to respond.

I remember Star Jones having some kind of show in the early or mid 90's, and wondered what happened to her........Then she turned up on the view, and was ok for the first year or so...I dislike her with a passion now, her attitude is horrendous.... After the wedding pimping Star did on The View, they should have fired her and thrown her out on her rear.....

Now, you guys. I'm sure that Mr. Reynolds is just as butch as he CAN be.

Again, I like Star and am happy for her success. Our Society and these very celebs that we are all obsessed with create the "metrosexual" ... then WE criticize any man who appears to be one. It's crazy. It is only speculation that Al is gay, therefore why jump on that rag wagon? If the guy was caught with his pants down with another guy ... OK FINE ... but that hasn't happened, so I refuse to attack him. If anybody saw Star's interview on 20/20 Friday night, you would have seen her say "I've been called many things in my day, but stupid is not one of them" ... in regards to Al being gay.

We'll pay $12 bucks a month to listen to Howard Stern (who is making upwards of $500 million dollars by moving to Sirius) degrade women over and over and over again, but Star Jones who has done nothing wrong except maybe be annoying to some ... is crucified.

She loses weight ... what a bitch! She has an opinion ... what a bitch! I don't get it! Too many people get their kicks on ragging on others ... again, I just don't get it. Life is too short to focus that much negative energy on someone you don't like!

What ever happened to "if you don't have something nice to say, keep it to yourself" ... ???? AND, I know I KNOW ... I've been guilty of ragging on Jane Tracey ... but THAT is different!! She's genuinely annoying! ;-) hehe ...

I'll gladly add Howard Stern to my Sh*t list. He's in the top 3, for sure.
I didn't like Star before she lost weight, and it's pretty sickening that she writes memoirs of her honeymoon.
Some people will do anything for a buck.
It's fun that everyone has an opinion. That's what's good about the board.
I like the fact that I have stuck up for Sheila Johnson and have never gotten bashed for that.

Mostly, this post was done to get "views" in a ridiculous attempt to get to #1.

Star Jones was quoted in a legitimate newpaper, not a trashy rag paper, as saying that her hubby confessed his homosexual, or bi-sexual as he put it, past to her, and she said she accepted that, and believed him when he said that his past was behind him.

Bully for her.

The stupid dumb assshit HIPPO/HOG'S HUSBAND??????????????????? is AS MUCH OF A 'STALLION' AS A GELDING (A MALE HORSE THAT HAS HAD ITS SEX ORGANS REMOVED) that believes IT is a stallion--that could even satisfy a mare!

For BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZIIIII IIIIIIINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGG assshit: IDIOT, A MALE HORSE (STALLION) SATISFIES A MARE (FEMALE HORSE) not a HOG/HIPPO!

No, Beeper. I'm trying not to hear them. I'm trying not to think of them. Yuck. Though this book could be the diet solution everyone is looking for. Read the passages where she discusses her sex life, lose any appetite you had. She's marketing this thing all wrong.

I agree with beekeeper. I like her too. She was on Larry King tonight, but I missed it... the Commander in Chief was on. I'll catch it at 12:00 instead. Should be interesting.

Gotta give her credit, she took charge of her life and sounds much healthier now. That's what counts.

Now that she thinks she's gorgeous, I'll bet she starts looking around for someone who isn't eyeballing other guys. She can afford anyone she wants.

Awww ... I missed Star on Larry King. I'm surprised they didn't mention it on the show yesterday! Glad to know I'm not alone BeckyC! :-)

I don't care for her either way.. I mean, I don't like her, but she doesn't make my skin crawl. Just appears to be over the top to me. However, she did sell a line of shoes at (don't cringe!) Payless, and I was in a crunch for some dressier sandals. Well, you know I got them for $10, and that is the most money she will get from me! :)

PS - they weren't that bad looking, either!!! :)

I like her. Yes, she can obnoxious and arrogant, but she plays the game well. She cracks me up!!! I have my own opinion why so many people are so annoyed by her behavior.

I'm with Kitty with more ambivalent feelings on Star. If she's made something of herself, good for her. I wouldn't set a timer to watch her, but she certainly doesn't bother me.

I think it's almost sad, in a way, that she would "settle" for a less that ideal relationship, with an admitted bisexual, just for the sake of being married. She DID say that she didn't want to go throughout life with out experiencing marriage, and it just makes her seem a little desparate. Would anyone really be happy knowing that their hubby liked to play for both teams?? Not me.
Think I'd always be wondering if he'd stray to the other side......

I question the truth about the alleged admitted bisexuality. I don't think it ever happened. She doesn't seem like the type to settle for anything ... and bissexuality is a BIG something!

Bee,
Believe me, one of my many quirks, is that I AM very skeptical, about many things. Never believe anything just on rumors, or what is said in rag papers.

I wish I could quote the source, where Star acknowledges that her hubby fessed up to his past, and that they are both past that. Tried to think of it, can't remember, but it seemed legit. And, yes, it seems hard to imagine that anyone would be able to look past that just for the sake of saying they're married!

I read the transcript from Larry King last night and he brought up the gay issue ... she said it was all lies and all done just to be mean spirited.

I think the reason I find it hard to believe is that she is obviously SOOO giddy and in love with him ... I think that would be hard to fake. Joy or Meredith even mentioning his name and Star immediately gets a big foolish grin on her face ...

Whatever the case ... I hope they are as madly in love as they appear to be, and that they have a wonderful long happy life together!

I'm just a sucker for love ... :-)

Linda Lou

Ok, Bee. You win. I'm a sucker for love too, as long as it's true! LOL!

Jasmine46

I don't care for Star, and I certainly don't hate her, but I hope her marriage works out.

I still think the book idea is atrocious, and I have always thought that "tell-all" books were disgusting, i.e. Madonna, and other celebs that love to discuss their sex lives.

I know there are some that might think Star is in the limelight because of her skin color, but I think it's just because she's a big, beautiful, sort of bossy woman and she gets on some people's nerves. I never have liked large pushy women, but that's just because I was small and mousy and they always picked on me.

(I really wish that the title of this thread could be changed, and it was a foolish menopausal nutty thing for me to try to see if I could get a lot of hits by posting it.)

Linda Lou
01-11-2006, 12:21 PM
Jas,
I can't imagine you EVER being small and mousy.

Jasmine46
01-11-2006, 12:31 PM
Linda, you are thinking of my missing avatar, SuperJazz. Regular Jazz is small and mousy until someone gets attacked and then I change into SuperJazz.
Mostly in cyberspace, in real life I just ignore the mean ones!

beekeeper
01-11-2006, 12:35 PM
Me either! Jasmine ... small and mousy?!? NEVER! See what perspectives people get from people!!! I couldn't imagine you ever feeling small around anybody ... you have such a "I am woman hear me roar" attitude in your posts ...

I will be the first to say everybody can't like everybody! I probably like Star because I am a big girly girl (like she is) who also happens to be strong, open minded, opinionated and not afraid of letting said opinion be known. I've never been called bossy ... but hey ... I am an only child! ;-)

I'm sorry to keep going on and on about her ... but the View is my FAVE-orite show, and the reason I originally came to these boards was to participate on the View page. I finally had to leave cuz all anybody would do was constantly rag on every single host (but mostly Star) ... nothing good was ever said and it just got old. I just don't understand being mean spirited about anything, least of all celebs that I will never meet! I would never wish harm to anybody ... and some of those ladies over there are just down right rude! If you don't know something to be absolutely true ... why stand behind it only to perpetuate your obvious hate toward that individual?!? I've said it before and I'll say it again ... to me, the glass is always half full ... I refuse to "assume" the worst about anybody ... except Jane Tracey ... she is just WRONG!!!!! hehe ...

Jasmine46

If you met me in a social gathering, you would never guess that I am SuperJazz! I try to stay on the low-down and be unobtrusive. I'm 5'5" and was usually around 105 lbs. (small boned like JRT!!!)
Now it's somewhat higher, but I used to get pushed around by big meanies, so that might account for the cyber attitude. ;)

Linda Lou
01-11-2006, 12:56 PM
Jas,
I'm not small, and thank God, I'm finally not particularly big, but keep talkin' about how much you weigh, and I WILL squash ya like a bug!

You scared? ;)
