Here is something for everyone to ponder while smoking the peace pipe tonight.

Is the government trying to control us with SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM and the sorts? Are they saying all these "studies" showing how depressed we are is really just a ploy to let us believe us, drug us up and make us blindly follow the rulers like sheep? Sort of like how the use "Soma" in a "Brave New World"?

Is there ever actually any real news? Are we somehow so brainwashed that they show the same news loop ever 6 weeks? Is there something in our water (Flouride which is a mind controlling substance) that knocks out our short term memory so we don't realize we are being hornswaggled?

Are all those hormones and antibiotics being added into our food system just another way of trying to create a human super species?

Are there actual aliens roaming this planet in human skin suits?

Could aliens actually just be us coming from the future to see what went wrong and how to stop it?

Is there really a space time continium?

Are Michael Jackson and Dianna Ross from the same test tube?

Wow, HHI, you may be onto something. How else to explain the almost total lack of reaction to all of the government scandal swirling around us, the sad state of those still affected by natural disasters, etc. No one seems to give a damn. Maybe it's because we all feel so powerless. Elections appear to be fixed; pedophiles like MJ go free; kids are dying in Iraq and so what else is new?

I know. I was just looking at what you posted. It is like the "70's all over again. The names and places have been changed but the stories are the same. I asked my Dad about my ideas and he said even the 40's had the same issues, it just wasn't so prevalent as the media machine on 'roids hadn't even started yet.

Crooked politicians go a long back, back to the caveman I presume.

I refuse to comment on the grounds that what I say may incriminate me or get me wiretapped (if I'm not already)

Do a google search for "contrails" for some really weird conspiracy theories. There are also a lot who think 9/11 was an inside job.

I do think the public has dumbed down tremendously in the last 30 years, and don't know what is to blame for it.

Our schools are not doing a good job for one thing. Grade inflation is ridiculous and kids get A's for showing up. I read that even 3rd world countries are doing a better job of educating kids than we are. Geography is no longer taught. Very little history is taught and it is often an elective. Try asking a HS school kid when WW2 started or to name one senator from his state. It's sad and a set-up for bad government.

If you do not know the lessons of the past you will repeat them.

I agree that schools suck, but so many people lack just the basic curiosity to even learn for themselves. I didn't learn much in school, and I graduated almost 30 years ago. Most of what I know I learned of my own initiative. My daughter went to mostly private schools and had a somewhat better education, but she has the intellectual curiosity (thank goodness) to try to read and learn things on her own, too.

It seems to me that many people nowdays just lack intellectual curiosity and swallow everything they are told, hook, line and sinker without questioning things.

I think WE are the aliens... actually Martians who emigrated when their planet no longer could support life.

"Indifference is a Weapon of Mass Destruction"

--Dennis Kucinich, 9/4/05

We've been dumbed down, pampered, placated, and distracted into a state of acceptance. We don't want to rock our cozy little boats so we look the other way while we trample on those not lucky enough to have been born in this time and place. We wave the flag and count our lucky stars and try not to think about what our lifestyles have cost the rest of the world. And we don't even realize that we've been had too.

Kuncinich was never taken seriously and he knew what he was talking about. Too bad we passed up an intelligent articulate candidate.

Yanno, Abe Lincoln or Franklin D. Roosevelt wouldn't have stood a chance with the voters today. One was homely and the other was crippled. They both saved our country in different ways. Get a clue, America.

This board rocks! Thanks you all for your opinions and keep them coming. It is a free country, at least the last time I checked.
