Sharon Rocha (Laci Peterson's mom) has written a book about Laci and is on the TV shows promoting it. I saw her on Dateline last night, and she's on on L.King Live right now, and I think she was on Today this a.m. I think she has had "work done" esp. around her eyes. She was much more wrinkled before.

I have mixed feelings about her writing a book, and profiting from her daughter's death as it sells.

I think I heard that Sharon is donating some (all?) profits of the book to the Laci and Connor Fund (can't remember the exact name of it). I do think there are people out there who are interested in hearing her side of the story. She didn't do the talk show circuit after trial, so I have some respect for her.

I took a look @ the book when I was @ Target the other day. It was weird to see pics of Laci and Scott in the book. I didn't think she'd put in pics of them together during seemingly happy times. I was fascinated by the trial, so I might have to read it.

Funny, I was walking the aisles of ShopRite this evening (fun!) and I passed the area where they have a few books, and saw that book. I had been wondering how long it has been out - now I know!

If she is donating all of the profits to the Laci and Connor fund, then that is nice to hear. I hope she isn't out for money. Now, I have so many books already on my list, so if anyone reads and cares to share, please do!

The fund is called "The Laci and Conner Search and Rescue Fund" A program of the Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation.

Sharon was under a gag order not to talk about the trial until recently. I heard her say this morning on Today she was not benefiting from the profits but the money would help other families of similar circumstances. I saw the book in Walmart for $17 and almost bought it.

I didn't realize until half way through the trial that Sharon and Ron weren't married because they always referred to Ron as Lacy's stepfather. I wonder what their situation was because they have lived together for over 20 years.
