View Full Version : Who is this Antonella person?

My goodness, she looks so "unpolished". I heard her mentioning that she's just a regular person and she never worked in tv before, she worked in a hospital, etc, yet she was telling in the role of the host, doing /saying the things that the host usually does/says. It seemed as if it was not her first time on the air with the Models Prefer lady.
What is going on? Please - Do not tell me that QVC has taken this reality-craze into consideration and hired a regular person to do hosting. Tell me I am wrong or mistaken. When I turn on the tv I want to see someone who looks and sounds and carries themself like a professional who has done this before. I don't want to see someone who could be some teenager's mom from Staten Island.
Maybe QVC is looking for another Rachel Ray, but who can stand watching that loudmouth?

Hmm, she seems nice, but no one I know that is an "everyday" person is quite so loopy. Wish she would just get a little more serious with her presentations, not that there's anything wrong with a little humor, but sometimes it seems like she's had a drink or two before she goes on air! She gets very distracted when she's doing a show, she needs to stay more focused.

I also enjoy watching Antonella--she may not be as polished or as experienced as the other hosts, but that what makes me listen to her. She comes across as genuine, something so many others fail to do.

She gets kind of out there sometimes that's for sure. I enjoy watching her, because she doesn't take herself so serious.

I really enjoy Antonella...she is very down to earth, and yeah she has a big smile, but it's a great smile. She has gotten better with time and I hope she continues with QVC for a long time!

Rufus is a cutie!

one morning this week Antonella was doing a jewelry show with Trina the model
a piece that she liked sold out and i could've SWORN she said. "Son-of-a bitch!"
whatever it was, Trina just covered her mouth and smiled...

she was on this morning with the Models Prefer lady
at least Antonella is congenial, and if she does "step on the guest's toes", she's very apologetic...

i do like her, especially compared to "she who shall not be named"...

I have only seen Antonella a few times, but she seemed really nice and down-to-earth and like she loves her job!
She was dressed way more stylishly than the other hosts, too. They need to bump "she who shall not be named" and put Antonella on in some daytime or primetime evening shows.

Maybe that's why is on only during the wee hours of the morning . . . she's a Not Ready for Prime Time Player and is relegated to the time of day when they can drop the F bomb on Comedy Central and the SOB bomb on QVC.

Yyyyyyeeeeaaaahhhh, that's right, won't you slip back to Leon's crib and bring some friends.

I got Leon's avatar because I was going to use him to give advice on how to woo the ladies to the male reprobates that were posting here for a while about the female hosts, but they seemed to all retreated back to the cyber circle jerk that the HSN board has become.

OMG, Txn! I hope you were whispering when you said that. I visited the HSN site the other day, and quickly got right back outta there! YIKES!

Oh, is Bookie saying your avatar's a lady???? if so, I really need to get a stronger SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM.

i really like her ... i usually catch her when i am on 'days' and have to get up at 3am. she just appears so normal and down to earth - which i really like. she is being herself and not putting on a show like some hosts: ie creampants and elfears. she is 'telling it like it is' and isn't that what life is all about.

I like to watch Antonella...she very "Real"; it's fun to watch her get excited about the jewelry and some of the other products. Her "tellin' it like it", is entertaining, especially in the wee hours of the morning if you can't sleep. As for the cuss words, I missed that...sometimes words sort of slip out of the mouth. Some folks just have a way with saying what's on their mind. It's LIVE TV!!! lol

Antonella should be doing stand up comedy, NOT hosting on QVC. HSN has been hiring better new hosts than QVC (and I'm not talking about ex-QVC hosts)!

don't rush out to the eye doctor's yet

tim meadows (old SNL) played a character named Leon Phelps, the Ladies Man
Leon was a sort of love advisor, taking calls and letters
when he answered the phone, most times he would say "Ooooh! It's a la-dy"

he was a 70's style mack, complete with velvet pictures, candles, and of course, he sipped on Courvoisier
the most memorable skit, imo, was the one with Julianne Moore acting as one of Leon's girls

TXN, you're a genius!!!

Oh, Bookie, thanks for the explanation. Txn let me know what in the heck that "Leon Phelps" deal was all about. Think I still need a stronger SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM though.

i agree!
i like to watch MAD TV reruns, too

the two puerto rican ladies( nicole sullivan and debra wilson) so funny, trying to pick up guys and talking about their 'tetas'

dixie wentworth and 'pool boy' (garden boy???)

all time favorite is aries spears as 'dollar bill montgomery', the black militant host of "Real Mother----ing Talk with Dollar Bill Montgomery"

sooo funny....

I like her. She is a breath of fresh air. Real, unpretentious. A little closer to my age too, I suspect.

I like her, too. It is good to see her so relaxed. When she first started she seemed to be scared to death and didn't look like she would live through her show. Now she laughs and is happy, even if a little silly, and is very natural. She does seem to be someone you would like to know.
