it depends on the employer, minium is 3 months though many allow longer.

Three months seems much longer than what I am familiar with.

Maybe this question is best for a woman in the work place who has used pregnancy leave. But as I understand it, you must use available vacation first, then short term disability. I believe 6 weeks is the standard although if sufficient vacation time is available, some women will stay out longer to allow more time to bond with the newborn.

And as mentioned, often they change their minds about returning to work and become stay at home moms . . . . . . .

nosale with the women at my work they have been allowed 3 months in all 3 cases so far ,yes some of the time is vacation but wisconsin is very pro materinty leave
