who doesn't have pierced ears? I hated the look of holes in my mother's ears so I never had it done. Also the pain of it didn't appeal to me, LOL. I just gave all of the pierced earrings I inherited to my daughter. There were 3 18K gold pairs, one amethyst and diamond pair, 1 diamond and gold pair and one sapphire and diamond pair.
I seldom wear earrings because they pinch. Yes, I know that if I had gotten my ears pierced that wouldn't be a problem but... I had some magnetic earrings once and they were great but I haven't been able to find any since. The old fashioned screwbacks work because I can adjust them. I have been able to buy some on ebay.

I have my ears pierced...when I was younger I wanted multiple holes in my ears, but luckily my mom put a stop to that. I got 2nd holes and then a third in my left ear, but I have since let all that close up so I only have single holes. Would you want to get your ears pierced now? I love the color or sparkle a pair of earrings can give a face.

No, Kitty, not at this point in my life. And I just gave away all the good pierced earrings anyway. ;->

You would probably think I look a little funky for a middle-ager, pebbles. I have 4 piercings in each ear. That's not as bad as some I've seen, even older. And, may I add that the piercings were done about 15 yrs ago, when I was a pup of 30! Love earrings; would feel naked without 'em.

I must be the odd man out when it comes to piercings, I have one hole in each ear. Boring!!!! I always wanted a 2nd hole but was way too chicken to get them.

Nah, I'm w/you on this (now), Garnet...Now that I'm older, I like just one hole in each ear. Simple, but depending on the earring style, it can be quite noticeable!

Hiya! I have 2 holes in each ear but only wear a second earring in my left ear! Isn't that weird? I pierced my own ears with 2 ice cubes and a sewing needle when I was in the 7th grade, back in the early 70's! My brother came into the room just as the needle went thru and he turned white as a sheet! I still have the same "ear holes" all these years later!

OMG mystylady! I squirmed just reading that! I am glad you didn't get an infection or anything! That reminds me of that episode of the Cosby Show where the son Theo had his friend pierce his ear and Theo was trying to hide it from his father!
Oooohhh, I can't think about that anymore! Oh, the pain!! :)

No, see that's the beauty of the ice cubes! You put them on your ears...one in front, one in back and then you wait. First it's really cold (duh!) then it hurts because it's so cold. Next thing you know it doesn't hurt anymore because now your earlobe is completely numb. The trick is to do it quick before it "thaws" LOL
Eww OK now that I look at it from your point of view... but consider that now when you go to get your ears pierced they don't do anything but tell you to maybe grip your arm rests! Yeow! Do you have ANY IDEA what kids are getting pierced these days??? You think you're cringing when I say "ears"?Think "the most painful places EVER" and then times that by two! It ain't me, babe! my lobes are plenty, thank you VERY much! LOL
Am I the only one who has tattoos? I have a rose and a butterfly on my left shoulder and butterflies and "swirlies" on my right ankle that my daughter did... she's a tattoo artist! I had a tough time with that at first but now I think it's cool. I get a new tattoo every Mother's Day as a present but I'm like 3 years behind because I can't make up my mind what I want and where. I don't know where she gets it from...I can't even draw a straight line on PAPER let alone an intricate design on someone that will be there FOREVER! Could you imagine??? It doesn't hurt nearly as much when she does them either... she has a very gentle touch. I'm not a "spring chicken" but I'm not ready to be put out to roost yet either!

I have mine pierced twice, but wish I had never done the second set. I'd be lost without earrings ... and IMO, the pain is SO worth it! No holes in my ears ... NO DIAMONDS in my ears! lol ...
I don't have any tattoos. They just aren't my thing.

No tattoos here either. I have a very low tolerance for pain and the thought of getting a tattoo makes me nauseous. LOL

Mysty,
I did the self piercing thing as well. Of course, in addition to the ice cubes, me and my friends had split a couple of bottles of wine between us. Very good anesthetic.

I don't even like to look at tatoos. LOL. Lots of people are having them removed now and that is even more painful that getting them in the first place.

I dont "get" tattoos. I mean they are so permanent and knowing how fickle I am when it comes to things, I would be getting them removed within a year.
And the other thing I cannot stand to see a man with tattoos all over his arms and neck it gives me the creeps. It makes me think of a criminal or something. I know that is bad to think that way and very stereotypical but it does bother me.

This may surprise some, but I kinda like the "all tattood" kinda guy (kinda SEXY).
Has anybody ever watched the show "Miami Ink" on TLC? It's a show about 4 real guys who co-own a tattoo shop ... and each week they focus on 3 or 4 people who come in the shop, stories behind their tattoo's, etc. I find it fascinating. They aren't just a bunch of low-lifes and/or criminals (my view before watching the show). They are normal people like you and me ...

Bee, I am surprised you would say that about a man who has tattoos all over his body. I just pictured you with the Brooks Brothers Dude driving the Mercedes. Funny how we perceive people here.
As for Miami Ink, I saw the advertisement for that show and it gave me nightmares. You are right Bee, I am sure many tattoo toting men are not criminals. I watch way too much TV/movies. LOL

Don't get me wrong ... you've got the right image of MY MAN (lol) ... but there is just something about a "bad boy"! ;-) If my hub came home with a tattoo, I'd be pissed. If he had one when I met him, ok fine ... but now, it would be a big question ... WHY?!?
To be fair, I'm sure a lot of those tattood men ARE criminals ... lol ... it's a crap shoot!

It's true that a lot of criminals get tattoos in prison. There's just as many that haven't gotten any yet they're as criminally as they come! My tattoos are "discreet" and feminine... I personally think it's sexy when a man has an "arm band" tattooed around his upper arm! Oooh Baby! Well, if the guy is nice looking to begin with that is! I mean, just to look at. My boyfriend doesn't have any and will NEVER get one. He's against them, for himself, tho he likes mine.
Because they're SO permanent, I have to be 100% sure that I completely & totally love it before I'll get it. That's why I've been trying to pick out my next one (which will go in the small of my back) for 3 years now!
I like Miami Ink! I like it better than the A&E show "Inked". I don't know how my daughter does it... she has to stand over the person for HOURS and then she leaves the tattoo shop and works as a Server/Assistant Mgr. of the Country Club in town! Her feet must KILL HER! On the brighter side of tattooing, where else can you make $75.00 an hour???

No, you are not alone with the tats! I have several. I large spongebob squarepants on my right bicep, a skull and crossbones and an eagle with a flag on the other, a rose on my wrist, a butterfly on one hip and a dragon on the other. I love 'em, and plan to have my left arm be finished into a full sleeve with a completely partiotic motif.
As for the ears, I have two holes in each ear. At one time I had ten in one ear, when I was in my teens. I let them all close but the regular holes, but the second set somehow stayed open. I only use the second holes on occasion. I think now that multiple holes can sometimes look tacky depending on what you put in. I have a friend ( love her to death, but...) who is in her fifties with, like, four holes in each ear. She wears all these crazy, mismatched, dangly pairs all at the same time, some silver and some gold. Yechhhh!
Anyway, am I the only one who has trouble finding nice looking earrings in real gold?

Spongebob! My daughter has Gary on the top of her left foot and a butterfly on the right. Wow you have a lot! A sleeve! That's gutsy! I don't go for arm tats on girls but then again, I'm kinda "old school" on that one, since so many have them... my daughter included. She has white lilys on a teal background on her shoulder/arm and I guess I wish she went more conservative, but I'm just not for the arms. My next one will be in the small of my back, when I finally decide just what to get! If you want to see her portfolio, the address is
