I SO hear you on that!!!! Misty really cheapens the network - not that JTV is the classiest shopping network anyway (Don't get me wrong - I love JTV. It's the only shopping channel I watch, probably because it is so laid back. Some of the hosts on the other channels are so hoity-toity and I hate the over the top sets and goofy models. Give me good ol' Tennessee JTV any day of the week!). But still, Misty has got to get it together. She sounds and looks ridiculous and is so ORANGE!!!

She is the only host that I just can't stomach. When I see that it's her, I get pissed because I simply can't watch her and I love to watch JTV, even with the sound off I cringe because I KNOW that she's "doin' the stupid countdown", sayin' First Come First Served, While They Last... AAARRRGGGHHH! I can't fathom that NO ONE HAS EVER TOLD HER THAT SHE SOUNDS LIKE A COMPLETELY BROKEN RECORD!!! Ad Nauseum! "Wharrrrfff" She really gets my dander up.

What exactly IS "getting your Dander Up"? LOL Is it like "she's so bad she makes the "baby-hairs" on the back of your neck stand up? I can actually feel my hands becoming fists when she's on with her mouth running! GRRRR!
Maybe it's because she comes off as completely and totally Phony and she acts like has no heart for it? How can you have passion for something and sound like you're reading a tired old 4-5 line-only script?

I think you hit on dead on ... she has no passion for it anymore. She always comments on how long she has been with JTV ... but when she is on air, she acts like she'd rather be somewhere else ... never visually excited about anything.

last night I saw them transitioning from Misty to Mandy (split screen) ... Mandy was going on and on about what she had coming up, and Misty wasn't paying her any attention ... "uh huh" ... "wow" ... kinda made me think even less of her.

PLUS, is it me or is she getting bigger by the day?!? Maybe she is pregnant too!

And Casey has LOST weight, I think. She was in a cast for awhile, and now she's active again. Also, Wendy and Angie have lost a lot of weight. Both of them have done great.

Maybe it's the ol' "Camera Adds 10 Pounds" ploy.
Good for them, tho! It's hard to lose weight. I gained some major poundage back in the early 90's and when I finally went on a diet and lost it I vowed that I would never have to do it again because it was such a horrible thing. So far so good! I fluctuate between 120 & 130 now, depending on how good the Twinkies and Dove Chocolates look. "whew"!

There are a few smokers (hosts & hostesses), but they're not die-hard-chain-smokers.. All of them are pretty intelligent about it, and most of the Hosts know that it's job first, smoke later.

Well.. I've seen 4 different layouts so far.. but they all look to be "campus style".. One large Mother Building with fledgling buildings built around it.. add several hundred (or thousand) parking spots and voila! New JTV HQ.

We'll be "together" in that sense, but I think any department that doesn't need to handle product will be included in a fledgling building.. ;)

Right now, wherever you go, if you step towards the studio end, expect to go through the metal detectors and security...

Misty-isms . . . . The one that gets me the WORST! "We are saying . . . 89, We are saying . . . 79, ....." Grrrr!

I wanted to know the stone and gold content on a ring one day. Misty started the bloody price at about $2400., then spent 10 minutes on "We are saying . . . . " without ever actually SAYING what the heck she was selling!!!I finally called the toll-free and told a very nice rep that Misty was making an ass of herself on national TV. She laughed and said I wasn't the first to call up for that reason!

And then she very quickly looked up the item# and descrip for me. Besides having some really incredible jewelry deals, the company has 5 STAR customer service!

I agree ... love the company, love their customer service ... and hate the number game so many of them play. It's like they are always selling to someone who has never watched. And as far as the fact that "the show hosts must be doing something right" that may be true, but if you read the posts about people having to turn the sound down or turning the channel off completely, that means some of them are doing things VERY wrong because these actions are losing potential salas. You can't buy if you don't watch.
Ever heard of the phrase the Customer is always right? Well, we are all pretty much customers, so even if YOU think we are wrong, according to JTV, we are right!

And as far as the fact that "the show hosts must be doing something right" that may be true, but if you read the posts about people having to turn the sound down or turning the channel off completely, that means some of them are doing things VERY wrong because these actions are losing potential salas. Dark Tanzies (preferrably not in the trillion cut) and diamonds (white and BIG ... lol).

I'm a big bracelet and ring girl ... but as I've said ... only rings on one finger, on each hand. If I wear a bracelet, I don't wear a necklace/pendant, and vice versa. These are just rules I have for myself.

I always have earrings on ... would feel naked without them.

Hate thumb rings, toe rings and anklets.

My fave semi-precious gems are Chrome diopside, kunzite, spessartite, tsavorite and mozambique garnets. Also love good peridot, citrine and aqua.

Robert does get some great Gents rings! Un fortunately he is the only one who shows them most of the time since Scott and Tommy do mostly all gemstones.
One reason for the lack of gents jewelry though, is the fact that JTV has mostly a women audience who purchase mostly womens jewelry.

In my humble opinion Kilo 3 6 has turned this board into a negative one. The users here do like JTV and have said so many times, but Kilo keeps recycling bad things therefore creating constant negative threads. As loyal viewers and buyers we feel that we can give our opinions. Kilo, have you never had a bad experience at your favorite restaurant and expressed it? It does not mean that you will never go back, you just may not order that same dish. I understand that you are defending your friends, but do so and move on. By the way I also change the chanel when Misty is on, it does not mean that I won't be back. The powers that be at JTV should use the info here in a constructive way.

YIKES broken ribs hurt like MAD! And like Robert would say "Congrassulonies" on loosing all that weight! I lost 92 pounds myself and so I'm sure you know how much it sucked BIG TIME! I was Always Hungry! I did it smart tho, over the course of a year or so... I sure wanted to be sure I never had to do THAT again! So far so good... that was in 1994/95 so "whew"! I fluctuate between my size 9's and my size 9's only they KILL when I button them! Ooof! The turning point was being in this teeny weeny dressing room and I looked in the HUGE mirror and ... what the hell is that WHALE DOING IN HERE!!! Oh God IT'S MEEEEE! Yahhhhh!<Ran screaming> And that, as they say, was THAT!

JTVemployee.....you are either a "tater" or someone from the call center who spends an hour at a time on the floor translating messages from callers. Your problem is that you wish you could be a show host......and cant.....so its just as easy to rip on them to elevate yourself in your own head. Pitiful....its basic pshycology.....but still pitiful.

Seriously folks.......do not look to either of the afore-mentioned folks to give you any true "insider" info.....because they dont truely KNOW anything.

Big deal if they know who smokes! Anyone can walk outside at anytime and see anyone smoking. Anyone can go to a local resturaunt and see if they prefer chicken or beef. Anyone can go to a local supermarket and see if they like Special K or Cap'nCrunch.......does that make them an insider?

If you want to know insider info......why not instead of trashing the show-hosts about this or that.....try asking them? Why not be constructive instead of destructive? You would be surprised at how many of them see this.....and may actually listen.
They are people too.
Doing a job just like you.
Working for a pay-check to support families and people they love.
The only difference is you see them 4 hours out of a day....literally 1/6 of a day....maybe 4 times a week.
And you think you know them?
Its like wondering into a movie theater for in the middle of a feature for 2 minutes and walking out and writing a review for the paper!

Now....in line with the thread......I cant speak for Misty or any other show host......
But.....regardless of what they say over and over and over again.....it obviously hasnt detered you from watching! How else would you know it was said over and over again?
Also.....all show-hosts have their little quirks, and things they say and do over and over again. This isnt scripted!
If you think you have what it takes to sell Jewelry and speak and sell for hours at a time with out a script or a prompter......I invite you to submit a resume tape to JTV!

Also on that note.....Misty and all the other show-hosts are VERY VERY VERY successful at what they do.....otherwise JTV management would not have them being the "faces" of the company........they are obviously doing something right!

Let me just say ... I don't sit on my ass all day I have a job! And with that attitude I'm wondering what JTV is learning from what we are posting.... I spent alot of money at JTV and I have been very disappointed lately from all of the negative news and from selling of gemstones that are of no value. As a customer I am permitted as with anyone that is posting to voice our opinion... It sounds like we might have been talking about you... and if I am correct then what have you learned to earn my respect and to get me to spend my money at your company? You know people always tell me I don't know when to "shut up" looks like we might be related because you don't either!... What you should have asked us was how could the company become better!... I know now that there will be no reason for me to spend my money with JTV!
