View Full Version : I've Got to Give Jill B. Credit for Honesty

I've mentioned on this BB before that Jill is not one of my favorite hosts, and we've had many threads discussing her flaws as a host. However, I have to give her credit for a statement she made on this morning's Prescriptives show.
She was presenting A52206, a Super Line Preventor (yikes - 1 oz. for $47) when she said something like "most people who watch me on a regular basis know that I use a different skin care line." She then went on to say she uses this product, why, when, and for what reason. I didn't hear her say she used other of the Prescriptives products she was presenting, although she may have since I wasn't listening that closely. But, I do give her credit for admitting she uses another skin care line (Philosophy? I was trying to remember which one). At least she's not like some of the other hosts who say they use every single line of skin care or cosmetics they are presenting and you know they are lying, unless of course they change skin care every hour or so, or every other day which of course they don't.

I do like some aspects of Jill's presentations - she is articulate (esp. compared to the newer hosts) and prepares well. However, to me her negatives still outweigh her pluses and I still don't care for her as a host. But she got brownie points today for admitting she doesn't use most of the Prescriptives line.

Actually she did state that she uses the Prescriptives False Lash mascara and the Out of This World Prescriptives lip glosses & colors. She was very adament that she uses these products all the time. Maybe you better listen a little closer before you make such statements.

And being honest is something you know nothing about!

Alert the media. I'm sure that Jill will be thrilled that she made "brownie points."

Especially for being honest by someone who has probably never been honest in her whole miserable life.

*** The avatar of the twins had something to do with my family, not Txn. I completely forgot all about that!****

Yeah, right, you old bat!

This is Hershey's M.O. She lays low for a day or so after she had been beaten up then starts posting again as if nothing happened.

Yeah, and when they do register, she'll accuse them of only registering to fight with her and she'll say they are someone else from another board who hated her. I want to know HOW MANY other boards has she been on? Who else who you know that has such a hate club from so many other boards?
And this is her life!! Making nice people pissed off. She's not welcomed or wanted ANYWHERE on the world wide web. How pathetic is that??

Hmmmm. A new approach. Interesting, and atypical. How long can it last?

I don't think she's even trying to be nice. I think she's just being very sarcastic and maybe trying to fool newbies and people that don't know what she did by putting up twin baby girls as an avatar.

Yes, of course it's an act, kitty, and full of intended sarcasm as well.

If she pulls her hair out, then it won't be soft and fluffy when she uses her Philosophy shampoo.

Jill is my favorite host on there. She never says she owns everything on air and doesn't say everything is soooo cute etc. If she likes a product, she says it!! No BS with her.....

I like Jill, however I don't watch a whole lot of QVC anymore. I've been disgusted by the difference in sizes of the denim and company line (ordered three pairs of pants, and only one fit!), and the amount of junk they now have on. Most of the stuff I can buy at my local store, and really. how much stuff does a person need? I can only wear so much jewelry, and mostly forget that I own it! I've saved a ton of money over the past couple of years by not ordering much.

Are you guys really serious about Hershey or, is this a running joke? I saw another thread last week saying she should be banned and didn't know if you were all joking. I still don't know. What happened? Can someone bring me up to speed?

Regarding Jill, I missed this particular show so, I don't know what was said. But, I have heard her say in the past that she doesn't use a product she's presenting.

I've heard Jill say many times she uses Prescriptives, and Lisa M. too.

Off topic, but still relevant to Jill.

I was watching her Denim & Co. show yesterday, and she got the dreaded call where a woman was going on and on about various mental and physical problems she has.

The woman is an agoraphobic, (never leaves the house) and told Jill how the Q was her only company, she also has gained over 100 lbs in the past year, and due to medical problems, liked how the clothing covered a skin condition she developed as well. Wow. It WAS a little uncomfortable just listening.

I have to say that Jill handled it really well, didn't squirm and seem uncomfortable as she has in the past, and didn't try to get rid of her right away. Maybe being a mother HAS made her a little more compassionate.

Speaking of Jill and motherhood--I'm watching the Maxx show his morning and it could be the horizontal design on her shirt but she does look a tad bit preggers...

Hershey - Thank you for proving my point. There is a way to sell and still be truthful and dignified about yourself and the product. Jill was never one of my 'faves' but with the current crop of duds at QVC, she has changed my opinion. MBR is also very up front about what she uses VS what she is selling. I think it's called...CREDIBILITY!
