New Job!!!

For those of you I told about me walking out of work on Tuesday, I decided not to go back to my old job. I decided it was time to do what I've always wanted to do. So I wrote a new resume that very night, and hit the road the next morning. I filled out three apps and got offered two jobs right away!!! Kauffman's offered me a part time at their jewelry counter, and Zales made me an offer, too. I knew that I would be taking a pay cut by making the career change, but surprisingly, Zales offered me a RIDICULOUS amount of money to sell jewelry, plus commission! What a sweet deal!!!! So as long as I pass the credit checks, I'm good to go! Wish me luck!
Oh yeah, Design Contest Finalsists are being announced tomorrow, well today by the time you all read this - Monday. Not sure what time, but you can bet I'll be watching for them all day! If any of you watch and see Erinn B. as a finalsist, that's me!!!

I didn't get in as a finalist. I am very bummed. There are some very good entries, far better than last years, but even so, and not to sound like a snob, but my entries are better than a lot of them. I noticed that all of them are on white backgrounds, mine were on black to show them off. The contest rules did say a plain piece of paper, but they did not say it had to be white. I wonder if that had something to do with it, or maybe the fact that I glued on real, tiny crystal stones made it so they couldn't scan them - though they could take digi pics like I did. Anyway, I wish I knew what i did wrong so I don't repeat the same mistake next year. This sucks.

Maybe your local Jewelry store could make it happen for you? Be sure you "Trademark" it first so they don't steal your idea!

I am sorry to hear about the Design Contest. I am sure your design was fabulous and any one of us here would be proud to wear your work. Please dont give up your dream, I am sure you are very talented and have much to offer the jewelry world :)
