Well, I've never actually designed jewelry before. I make jewelry from time to time, but I don't plan it out or anything, just fly by the seat of my pants. As far as having them made, I think that by writing the affidavit on the back of the designs, I pretty much gave away all rights to them to JTV. Plus, the actual original renderings were sent to JTV, which were better. So all I have is the pics you see. It breaks my heart to think that after all those hours of gluing on tiny crystals, they are now in the trash somewhere in Tennessee.
The stones in the flower one was ping tourmaline, rhodolite garnet and diamond accents. The butterfly one was peridot, amethyst, light tanzanite, pink topaz or tourmaline (I can't remember) and diamond accents.
Thank you all for your kind words about them, it takes away a little bit of the sting of rejection. Yeah, I don't mean to sound conceited or overconfident, but I really can't believe at least one of them didn't at least get into the finals, even if I didn't win anything, just being in the finals would have made me happy! Oh well. My mom was really upset, too. I took her up the pics to work, and she was showing them to all the girls at work and they were all going crazy. They had been checking the web site to see if I got in, cuz they were all hoping I would win, cuz they wanted to buy one! I had told my mom I would have taken her on the trip with me! Oh well. maybe we can still go someday. I really want to see the JTV museum, and the store that Fransesca mentioned,

Don't give up on your jewelry designing! Especially since you now work "in the Industry"!
Would the higher up's in the Co. perhaps be interested in your ideas? You could easily copyright your designs first (to CYA...) by writing down exactly what you used to make the piece, photograph it, put the design "blueprint" and the photo in an envelope and mail it to yourself, then when it comes back to you, DON'T OPEN IT!! It wouldn't hurt to have the whole schmeel notarized while you were at it, before you sealed the envelope. File it under "Copyrights" or whatever. Ta Daaa!
You really should! Talent like yours shouldn't be wasted!
