Standby line next week

Hey all:
Im new here, and Im wondering if any of you know the details about the standby line. I am coming from CT and the earliest train would get me to grand central around 5:45 AM and Id take the long walk to the studio, probably arriving around 6:15 or so...do you guys think Ill have a chance to get in at that time????

ALSO, are they going to be airing their show live next week? Because I really wanna see Vince Vaughn on Thursday! It says he supposed to be a guest co host Thurs. but I wanted to see if you guys knew if thats a live taping, or if its just a syndicated episode! ok, THANKS EVERYONE.

I say go for it. I was at the show last week and standbys got in, not all, but some. Pray for rain....that always keeps the standby count down!

But, I think there is a good chance the show will not be live next week as sweeps will have ended. Hopefully that hunch will be proven wrong.

That Vince is listed as a co-host is a good sign, I think...

Regis may be taking next week and Kelly will be in the studio...

You might go through the NYC Channel 7 switchboard... Susan may have a number when she returns...

You know, you just "may" have an opportunity to see a second taping on Thursday.... Next week is when "Grill Friday's" should return, and that means they both take Fridays off and double tape on Thursday... If that is the case, and you don't make the cut for Thursday's standby, you will most likely get a seat for the Friday taping...

Good luck with the trip, Olivia. I think you're safe arriving on the 5:45 train, then take a subway to ABC if you want to save a few minutes. I know the 1 and 9 lines both have a stop one block from R&K's studio, but I don't know if you'd have to transfer to get to one of those lines from GCS.

Ok, so this line up, with all those guest co-hosts, makes it appear more definite that the show next week is going to be airing live, and that regis is taking the week off. I sure hope so, because Id really really love to see Vince on Thursday! So I pray that that segment hasnt already been taped lol. Oh shoot...i forgot to ask about the standby line. How does one go about finding the line? I mean assuming I got there MAD early and was the first person, how would I know where to stand, to start the line? And how do I find the people who give out the standby numbers? You guys seem to know so much about this, so hopefully you can help me out! Thanks again!

Their standby line meets at the SE corner of 67th and Columbus at the glass doors. Starbucks is across the street on the SW corner, and Regis' apartment bldg is on the NW corner (it's the highrise above the Reebok sports complex). An ABC employee will come out with the numbers but I'm not sure at what time. There will be people coming and going at that hour because first and foremost that studio is the local ABC affiliate's headquarters and they do a local morning news broadcast, etc. You won't be alone.

Hi V, yes we rode the subway several times a day. It's the best for getting around....we had each bought a week-long unlimited pass for $24. Such a bargain.

Jeans are fine, that's what most were wearing when we went. But, nice jeans, nice top.

There were others who were dressed in nice pants, etc.

Remember, you're sitting down, all the camera sees is your top. Have fun :)

OH thats good to know. My friend and I were wondering that!

But, lo and behold, I have thought of yet another question. Im just full of questions haha....So, I assume there are no cameras allowed in the studio, so is there a place to check them in? Because me and my friends are camera fanatics, everytime we go somewhere we bring them, and we are going to make a day trip out of this so we want our cameras with us, at least for the rest of our trip. Are you allowed to bring ANYTHING into the studio, or do they make you check ALL of your belongings? If they make you check everything then I'll definately travel lighter, I dont trust leaving all of my stuff like that...lol im just paranoid....Ok well, thanks again in advance guys, you have really helped me out! Im sorry for all of these questions, I just wanna make this trip the best it can be!

Cameras are allowed....although they don't like you to use flash. However, I have seen some disobedient people using their flashes. lol Click away!

At Grand Central take the "S" (shuttle). It only goes one stop. The "S" goes from East 42nd to West. There you can get on the trains which take you to Live.

V, I, too, very seldom take the trains. I usually walk (living smack in the middle of the City) it's the way I get most of my exercise. Or I take the scenic route.....bus.

Kinda a random question but, Ive been trying to find out which, if any, restaurants and or cafés are open 24/7 in NYC. Does the starbucks across from the ABC studios happen to be open all night? I just have to think of what Im going to do to pass all the time Ill have on my hands haha...thanks again guys, only one more day til I head off!

I'm not sure about Starbucks hours, Olivia. You won't be far from Lincoln Center and they should have lots of shops, restaurants, etc.

hey everyone...I GOT IN!!!!! We got to the ABC studios at 3:30 AM and of course we were the first four people for the standby line...the next two people didnt show up until 4:45, we were quite bored to say the least but it was all worth it...I believe they ended up letting in around 10-15 standbys, it wasnt that many....Im glad we stayed up all night and did what we did, it paid off! I think the show was great and I JUST LOVE VINCE!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, no I was not the audience winner...BUT that lady was RIGHT in front of me so me and my friends were all on tv when it showed her haha I was actually hoping I wouldnt win, I think Id be tooooooo embarassed...

OMG this was just such an awesome experience! What a day....

Ok I think I need to go get some sleep :)

I got a big laugh out of the last photo on page two... I keep looking at it wondering if Kelly was sticking her tongue out, or what... Then I noted she had two noses, and a vry narrow rim of dark hair....
