New Blood Needed On Qvc

I would love to see a fresh face on the Q, maybe someone a little more "hip". I dont want to feel like I'm hanging out with grandma! How do we know Lena is leaving and what exactly happened to Sheila? I thought she was missing a spark or two anyway, a little boring.

LOTS of new blood is needed on the Q. Very few hosts have any flair or personality...people like Bob Bowersucks, Dan Wheeler, Pat James DeMentri, Laurie Shore and Mary Beth Roe, just to name a few, present items as if in a trance. It's so boring; a viewer knows what a host is going to say as soon as a picture of the product pops up. And, those hosts who do have something different to say, offer us unwanted tidbits about their personal lives and families. I do not give a hoot about Jane Treacey's girls or Antoinella Nestor's sister; I am watching a particular show to learn about the merchandise and determine whether or not I want to make a purchase. So JRT's sister had breast cancer...so did I...and I don't bore the world to death by bringing it up again and again and again. There should be a major purge and replacement of hosts at QVC--I truly used to enjoy watching it, but now I just channel surf by to see what's up.

I don't think most viewers would agree with you. And for me, anyway, how much is there to say about the products? To me, QVC would be very borning if it were all product talk all the time.

I used to love watching Judy Crowell on QVC, though not so much on HSN. (She's started to seem a little smug to me now that she has a "perfect" life, too.) I thought she was just interesting to listen to, always prepared, and always entertaining!

And I have to admit to fondly remembering Kathy Levine, too.. That kind of never-being-sure-what-she-might say edge made it very entertaining to watch her.

Now I am SICK of hearing about JRT'S perfect family, perfect life, and perfect size, but that's more a host I'm sick of, than the format of QVC in general.

Dare I say it, I think Lisa R -- as frustrating as she can be -- is far and away the most entertaining and fun host to watch. It can't be a conincidence that she obviously blows the other horts out of the water in terms of sales, too.

Hmm. I do agree with you to a degree, Barbi, but I wouldn't get rid of MBR. Sometimes, it's kinda nice to see a familiar face at the Q, and she's always pleasant. I sure do think the rest that you mentioned could go, but I would throw in Dan Hughes too. Snoozefest!

Honestly, I don't see how they could NOT mention some of their personal info, when they have to do so much talking. It would be a little dry if all they talked about endlessly were the product, and nothing else.

I agree with you that QVC needs to be a little more hip, instead of a like a bland 24 hour commercial. I would like to see hosts Bowersox, Domeier, Dementri, King, Nester leave & possibly Roe. My favorite hosts Lisa, Lisa & Jacque should stay, which needs no explanation & they're my favorite babes as well. It was a big mistake for Kathy Levine & Steve Bryant to leave, since they have disappeared completely from the public eye. QVC does need some new blood, without a doubt, because it seems lost at the moment.

I don't watch QVC for entertainment value. If I want to be entertained, I'll watch other programs. But I do agree that some of the hosts have better personalities and are fun to watch. It must be difficult to go on day after day and hawk stuff you may care nothing about. Some of the junk on QVC is so stupid, I don't know how they make it through a program.

The weekend schedules have to change. I get frustratedd that Lisa R. or Jane or rick Domaker, is on for a 3 hour stretch, and then is on again at the same day. The hostess' that have talent are the one's you don't se as much!

I remember when daliza crane was on QVC she was cute and smart. Then good old steve bryant, man he could sell the buttons off a shirt, then sell the shirt at introductory price he was that good.
QVC Needs to get people like him back on, and stop giving some much camera time to Lisa R. And JRT, and now patti reilly, and dan wheeler, and bob "boston"bowersox. And Isn't bowersox a real cook, or a smok wearing wanna be! gordon ramsay of kitchen nightmares he's a cook! paul pruddhomme he's a cook.

I actually lost my desire to shop on tv. The hosts are extremely boring. The only reason I ever watched was when Matt Martin was on at SAH, but they closed down. I do wish that the Q would consider getting younger people.
