I took my two daughters to see that movie yesterday and boy did it bring back memories of that horrific day 5 years ago. It brought tears to all of our eyes. We went to pay homage to those that lost their lives. And it just reinforces how much I hate those bast---s that did this to us. And we still must keep out guard up, as we are far from being over the terrorist threat.
A movie well done!!!

I saw the World Trade Center movie myself this past Friday evening and I agree that it was very well done.
Still too fresh in my mind to see it all over again.

I'm not ready to see it either. I might never be, frankly, since I live somewhere where the threat of terrorism is something I deal with daily.

I think I would like to see it, but I haven't decided yet. Living in NY, I just read an article in our local paper, about an area here that is very vulnerable to terrorists gaining entry. You would think that after 9/11, NY would REALLY be on top of things.

couldn't possibly even think about seeing this. I teared up during the clip they showed during Rescue Me. A dear friend of mine is a WTC survivor and unnfortunately he was watching Rescue Me too last week. :(

I don't think that this movie should have been made, what were they thinking?
It is disturbing to me that the terrorists-in-training and their leaders now know that people are now making money off their horrific act by putting it in the form of entertainment and releasing it.
I know there have been documentaries on TV, but these seem to be tributes more than entertainment, not something to pay to watch and buy popcorn too.
The movie industry will make a film about ANYTHING if it will make a buck!
All the money that went into making this movie should have been given to the families of the victims. That would mean millions of dollars! Lots of kids need a college education and some became orphans on that day.
This past week the terrorists plan ( 10 planes in 3 States simultaneously) was caught and stopped but there is much more to come. Terrorists don't like to fail. They have many plans, if one fails, they always have a backup. They are very patient.
Why give the terrorists what they want, which is ATTENTION!! We have to be aware but not give them kudos in a movie theater!
Yes, there were heroes that day, many of them, but so were there heros at the South East Asia tsunami 2 years ago and many other catastrophic events from the beginning of time and even presently.
There will always be hate, it is always nicer to spread and remember love!

The story was centered around two police officers and their courageous fight to stay alive with hopes that they would be found alive. I thought it was done in good taste. What about these 2 guys that went through intense pain and agony, and will have to deal with the memories of that day for the rest of their lives. People magazine a few weeks back featured their story.
And what about the marines that found him? This is just one little story of the herorism that took place that horrific day. There are many more out there to be told.
I think you should see the movie before you really voice your opinion.

The actual Marine in this story finally came forward, Sgt. Thomas. He was really an ex-Marine. When he heard the planes hit, he put on his uniform and went down there. He ran into another Marine and they went looking for victims in the debris. A note, Sgt. Thomas is African-American and the movie portrayed him as white. He lives in OH and has never come forward before until he saw the clip of the movie and realised it was him.

From everything I've heard and read, they ARE a determined bunch of lunatics, and don't even value their own lives. As one person said, "It's extremely unrealistic for Americans to think that we will never be attacked in some way again. It's going to happen, it's just a matter of where and when."

Paka, you don't know what you're talking about and good explanation Sue.
The story "is" about the two courageous officers, their families and those that try to save them.
If movies were never made about tough times in our past, we would never see movies about Pearl Harbor, Vietnam, WW1 and 2, the Challenger mishap and others.
There are people that have been born since 911 that will get to understand through the movies what did happen on that sad day.

Let's try to vaguely relate this to QVC: when the reallife events this movie depicted happened QVC temporarily shut down. As for the film itself I wonder what QVC lady host may have been good as Nicholas Cage's wife. Jacque Gonzales? Jacque can act. Maria Bello did good in the role though.

Well Rebel, another Oliver Stone film called JFK dealt with the further back past and young people of today get tired of hearing about how interesting life was before they were born. World Trade Center (which Jacque Gonzales may have been good in) is about something they can personally recall and it's only fair to young people to make movies about more recent events than say JFK.

I'll tell you an area that is getting almost ignored that is very EASY for passage here is the southern border!!!! People who don't live in the areas down there don't realize how unguarded our HUGE border is down there. There are no walls, and not guards everywhere. It's rather pathetic. And too simple. :(
