And what a surprise....
Apparently Trevor has set new rules in motion, and registration is now required to post on ALL the boards...
Thank you Trevor.... Who do we throw the party for? (besides you...)

there won't be anyone on the R&K boards. Seems like it was mostly unregistereds sometimes.

OR there will be a rash of new members
PK...

Yeah, Zip... I checked when I saw they had merged...
You can lurk to your heart's content, just can't post...
Hey, Kitty... Already there are new registered posters diving in... Perhaps things will be a bit more civil here, since the current anon trolls will have to register to post, and Trevor can ban them more easily, if necessary... Other registered posters who have been afraid to post because of the abuse, may decide to join the discussions as well...
One can hope!

It's great for getting rid of all the trolls, but I think it sucks for people who have been here for years and don't feel comfortable registering.

Oh well, guess they'll register or just lurk. :)

Well, as I have said consistently, what information are they giving up by registering? Trevor already has their email addies, and they always sign their names to their posts... Right?
They have a choice - just like the rest of us... The only downside I see is for the people who don't like to log in from work - though I don't really see what the difference there is, either... An employer can check where they have been spending their time online whether they log in or not...
I think the benefits of getting rid of the real troublemaking anon trolls who have plagued this place for years, is well worth the little bit of inconvenience for other unregistereds... And this will stop the finger pointing about who might really be whom posting from any proxy server - AOL or otherwise...
;0))

And how nice would it be to get this particular place back to where we could actually have a discussion without it turning into a shouting match of vulgarities from anons... Priceless... LOL... For the rest we have MasterCard, LOL...

I have no idea what info. would be given up, but I am sure people have their reasons
PK...
08-14-2006, 01:29 PM
Well, since you have registered, you should be aware of what info is given up by registering, and as to your second statement, I agree completely, I am equally sure people have their reasons for not registering - but now they have to make a choice...

I registred three years ago, I can't remember the process to be honest lol I can't remember what I did yesterday, then again either..
anyway I hope our regulers do register, they will be missed by a lot of us :)
It's great to get rid of the damn trolls though!

Yes, the non-registered people do have a choice. But maybe things will remain peaceful while it's being made.

Zippy, I think you have things backward...
Trevor explicitly asked me to send him fries...
No, wait, maybe it wasn't fries he wanted...
Pardon my Senior Week...
I agree, I hope it works out for the best all around...

The only thing you're giving up to register is your email address. You don't need to tell your real name, address, phone number, # of kids and their names, etc. So what's the problem? If people don't want to register, that's their prerogative and they just won't be able post. In my eyes, no big loss. I sure won't miss the nasty, nasty trolls with their filthy mouths.

Yes, as Elvis once sang, "there will be peace in the valley".
Good news! I had wondered what happened to the moderated board. By the way, I really liked Kelly's dress yesterday. And enjoyed Regis' airport experience.
Have a good Tuesday all!

Anyway, I think you've got Trevor pegged - he doesn't give one hoot about what goes on here...
it's all about quantity...but then, isn't that what business is all about?
