Yeah, but Finola must be REAL skinny, even Lisa looked large next to her.

Soap opera stars are known for being ultra thin. Also, Finola was a ballet dancer for a while before going into dancing. She still has that long, lithe dancer's body. Lisa is a bit chunkier by comparison.

finola is one of those people that need to stay inside on a windy day.orelse she would get blown away.almost anyone would appear heavier next to her.
finola and lisa are both pretty ,but they don't look alike.

Though one is European and the other american they act kind of alike though. Before I read this board I knew Lisa R. has no twin sister (nor does Lisa M.) You didn't get me Sueshe.

I don't see the resemblance.

I didn't watch the "how do I look" show, but when I saw the promo ... thought it was a GREAT and fresh idea!

How was it? Did they do befores and afters of models? Was it anything similar to the real show?

I thought the "before and after woman" looked like Sarah Jessica Parker.

Acura & Garnet, I agree with you about not seeing the resemblance.

Would you believe...

On a whim, I tuned into that show for almost an hour... I just had to see what Lisa looked like (and were those the cream pants?) I thought her jacket was a keeper... I have watched Finola on ABC soaps for years and years, so I thought that was a good time to take the leap...

Lisa has chunky thighs - I can relate to that, and I think she would look better if she went with larger sized pants - especially in cream. Then she wouldn't have to pose her stance so much - which might actually emphasize the problem... That and the length of her bangs are the only things I noticed in regard to reading the occasional post here... She is attractive, knows her merchandise, and is most personable... Works for me...

I was disappointed in Finola's choice of wardrobe for the show - she normally looks much more put together.

Hah... This is funny... I am the last person on earth to give a fashion critique on anyone... But I did it, and it was fun...

I did actually enjoy the "stuff" they were showing - not enough to pick up the phone and order, but I did have my eye on the white stitched handbags with the hotpink lining...

Lisa does need to size up in her pants.

What I got from the premise...

A young QVC person - Emily, I think her name was (average looking, average figure) was the subject on one of Finola's Style shows, and on the show they put her in several outfits - all assembled from QVC stuff...

They showed the outfits on her from Finola's show, and then hawked the pieces on QVC... Some were parts of two piecers, so if you wanted to duplicate the exact look, you would need to buy two offers - or more...

They also had a plus sized model and a thin model showing off variations on the theme... Though that is probably the norm for the show, right?

I have to say, I might check in again... But only to check on the cream pants, LOL...

LOL, Kitty... It must be the training by osmosis I got from 5 years on the R&K board....

I especially liked the "teal" blue ruffled sheer blouse and the dark velvet jacket (lace trimmed pocket flaps) - that is something I would have been all over in my younger days...

That and the scrunchie boots with the back zipper...

;0))

PK wondering what kind of cooking stuff they have... Uh OH! This is NOT good...

Yes, I did like that ruffled blouse and velvet blazer, too. Several of the blouses I thought were really cute, too.

I like most of their cookware. I have severel Cook's Essencial pieces. I also like the Santoku knife and the Genius onion chopper.

Welcome PK--I think you'll fit in great around here!

I too liked the blouse and blazer, but pictured being out somewhere and having to take the blazer off, and just laughed at the vision of myself in that ruffly blouse. Pass!

I ordered that DuJour military blazer that Lisa wore for most of the show. I love military flavor clothes.

PK, is that your beautiful kitty? A himalayan? I have a Ragdoll.

Hah, Curvigirl...

With me, that would never happen... Never, never take the kewl jacket off! Just daintily dab at the sweat blobs before the jacket got wet...

In fact I saved a great deal of clothing money on really neat jackets and kewl boots...

I really liked that jacket... It almost offset the cream pants... LOL.. J/K..

That is "The Wonderful Stickers"... (the first two names were all her idea!) She is just a long haired seal point "cat"... With way too much attitude...

She is the last of the last litter I raised, and the end of her line, drat... She has been spayed and her parents are no longer with us... She also comes to her name (just the "Stickers" part), and loves to play fetch with paper balls... She also trails around behind me outside just like a dog - when she finally decides that I am NOT returning to the safety of the house... (She sits at her cat door looking out and waits for whatever length of time her kittyklock determines before she comes out...)

I would love to have a Ragdoll...

She's beautiful, PK. And what would a cat be without attitude?

My Raggie is one of the biggest joys of my life.

Yes, they had some really cute clothes. I liked the fishtail coat. Everything sold out quickly.

I hear there is nothing not to love about the raggies... And they are "big", LOL... I could use one of them to balance the Great Dane... Though a Coon Cat has possibilities, too...

I suggested to Hubby that I be allowed to have equal weight in cats... He said go ahead - shut me down right away... That would make me one of those little old ladies with 15 cats...

Was the fishtail coat later in the program? I don't remember it...

The plaid gauchos were nice, too... And untying the "crotcheted" cardigan the way Finola wore it was interesting... I was surprised that the two models wearing it tied, just stood there... Seems they could have taken the hint and untied the tails as they were talking about it... They might as well have cardboard cutouts for what the semi-live models did...

There was another really nice pleated(?) blouse that tied in the back to give a perfect fit I would have gladly bought back in the day...

Y'all have a nice night... I am gone...
