We all buy (well, except Cana) from QVC and/or HSN. I'm wondering what catalogs everyone likes to order from? I'm a fan of Chadwicks (though sometimes the quality of their stuff is iffy) & Victoria's Secret. I have also ordered from LL Bean & Lands End over the years (can't say enough good things about them).

I thought it'd be fun to tell us all where you find the best deals, quality, or just great finds on things.

Jenn, I'm with ya on the Chadwick's stuff. Great quality, overall, and not bad prices. I order holiday type things from other places. Can't think of the names right now, but just unusual things you can't get anywhere else.

I am catalogue crazy. There are so many out there for so many different things. It's getting to be that time of year when the mail man hates me.

I love to get catalogs but I rarely order anything. Last ones I can remember actually ordering from and what I ordered.........
*Harry and David (yummy Royal Riviera Pears)
*Lillian Vernon ( basket of disposable guest towels for my bathroom/ assorted inexpensive personalized gifts that made people think...awww...she must care)
*WhatonEarth (Walter the Farting Dog stuffed animal/Napoleon Dynamite talking pen)

I've been happy with Signals, Popourri, Newport News.

Mikwright does not have a catalog but check out their website for hilarious cards, magnets, napkins etc --- www.mikwright.com --- I laugh my ass off looking at all their stuff and purchased quite a lot!!!!

I had to return my last order from Lillian Vernon. It was not good quality. I ordered a wallet that turned out to be cheap plastic and a pair of slippers that were not well made. I wonder if the co. has been sold? I never had problems like that before.

I have ordered from Lands End and Harry and David. I used to order from the Vermont Country Store but their shipping got too high. I have ordered spices from www.smackyomama.com. Miss Grace ships a to die for lemon cake.

Smackyomama.com????!!! OMG! You have got to be kidding! It sounds great. David Venable would probably like it, too! I have to check it out.

I don't know if Lillian Vernon was sold but I'm sorry to hear about the poor quality. :(

I can't resist Vermont Country Store. They just have such retro stuff, all I do is think of Mayberry....ahhhh.

Another good catalogue, IMO, is Chico's. I could buy one of everything in each edition.

I used to buy from catalogs but don't any more - haven't for years.
The only one I still buy from is ordering address labels from Walter Drake's.
But I can do that with Drake's online catalog and the searching is easier online too.

I don't order from catalogs anymore either. I mainly shop on line or in a brick and mortar store.

LL Bean is my favorite - I'm so addicted to them, but I love their store even more and get there anytime I'm heading to see family in Massachusetts. I love going there in the middle of the night when there is absolutely no one there (it's open 24/7), you meet the neatest people and have the store to yourself. I went there one night and had 4 people helping me try on clothes - it was so fun!! :o)

Also if you're you're heading upstate past Freeport in Maine, it's a good place to stop for a potty break, as their restrooms are immaculate. :o) (Meg's Travel Hint of the Day)

I like Colorful Images, Pyramid Collection, and Big Dogs. Alot of times I look in the catalog and then check on Ebay. Usually I can find the item at big savings - especially on shipping! :o)

I like Paragon and Potpourri. Love Jackson & Perkins. And DD works for Harry & David--nice discount!

Swiss Colony. Higher end, poo poo chi chi? Nah, but their macadamia clusters are to die for as are their petit fours. Yum.

Linda Lou: Check out divinedelights.com. It's the company that makes the petit fours for a lot of the mail order companies. The ones they do for their own catalog are incredible. They are exquisite little works of art. (They're also about a mile up the street from me--so I can buy them one at a time when the urge hits!)

P.S. They have a mail order catalog you can order too, which is a lot of fun to look through. It comes out seasonally with all their special holiday goodies. I especially love Halloween, Christmas, and Easter.

Thanks curvi! It's been fun reading all of the posts. I'm a catalog junkie. I know the mail carrier wishes I had my own zip code. LOL

Oh, how I love Swiss Colony, Linda! Cheese is my favorite thing in the world, so I'm in heaven when they have the kiosk @ my local mall during Christmas time.

I just sent in my request for the new Swiss Colony catalog, with the free samples once you place an order. I forgot about the cheese, it IS good. We don't get the kiosks in my area, just Hickory Farms.

When I see a Swiss Colony catalogue, I know it's Christmas! Ahhh! :)

Ice Cat - That sounds like heaven on earth! An LL Bean store all to myself!!!! Yippee!

If you want some good really authentic Maryland crab delicacies, try www.crabplace.com I sent a friend some of their crab soup for Christmas and he raved about it. We have a Harry and David outlet here and they let you graze on samples!! Divine. And there is an LL Bean store in a giant mall in N. Va.

A great catalog I like is Uncommon Goods (www.uncommongoods.com)- it has great gift stuff. Red Envelope (www.redenvelope.com) is also great, too.

Uncommon Goods rocks!!! :o) Totally forgot that.

Can you all post the web addresses for some of these catalogs? And what exactly they sell - I love a good catalog! :o)

I just want to say what a great thread this is missitaly! I have really enjoyed going to all the websites listed.

My favorite one is zappos.com for great shoes.

I don't buy clothes from any catalog (for myself anyway). I do love to buy house stuff from a few:

Horchow
Ballard
Pottery Barn
Bombay Company

I used to love the Harry and David catalog, but I just go to the store now.

How weird is this?

I just got an e-mail from Potpourri. While I do enjoy the catalogs, I don't think I've actually ordered anything in recent years, and have never been on their e-mail list.

Trevor, you're good!

Probably your name was taken from another mailing list (some sell their mailing lists to others) Marketing at its best !

Curvigirl

Maybe, but it seems oddly coincidental that I suddenly hear from them two days after I post their name here...

But then I am quite the conspiracy theorist.

OH ... so YOU'RE who J.R. keeps talking about Curvi! ;-)

Quite possibly. IMO:

1. Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone.
2. "Loose Change" brings up some interesting points, but more questions than answers.
3. John Lennon had nothing to do with either event.

So there! :p
