View Full Version : Britney files for divorce! Oh, my!

I thought we could all use a brief break from the real news today. She is a ridiculous train wreck, isn't she?

This is from TMZ.com

Britney Spears has filed a petition for divorce from Kevin Federline.

Spears filed legal papers today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing "irreconcilable differences." In her petition, Spears asks for both legal and physical custody of the couple's two children, one-year old Sean Preston and two-month old Jayden James, with Federline getting reasonable visitation rights.

As for money, sources tell TMZ the couple, who married in Sept. 2004, has an iron-clad prenup. Not surprisingly, Spears is waiving her right to spousal support. She's also asking the judge to make each party pay their own attorney's fees.

Spears gives the date of separation as yesterday, the same day she flaunted her incredible revamped physique during a surprise appearance on David Letterman's show. Sources tell TMZ there was no single reason for Britney pulling the plug, rather, it was "a string of events."

Spears has hired powerhouse celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has repped a number of celebs, including Angelina Jolie, Nick Lachey and Kiefer Sutherland. We're told Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe asked Wasser to rep both of them in their split, but Wasser declined for personal reasons.

Documents to follow.

I wanted to say finally, but was scared I'd get beat up.

FINALLY! Britney does the right thing! I haven't felt this good about a divorce since Whitney gave Bobby the boot!

Bee, I feel the same way. Maybe now she can meet a nice guy that will treat her and the kids right.

Everyone deserves true love.....

Thanks for posting Pandagirl

This news comes as no surprise to anyone. I have one question. Britney, WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG????

I think Kevin was a rebound from Justin Timberlake, and I also highly doubt Kevin even loved Britney. He used her to further his no talent career.

I think someone should fix him up with Heather Mills. They seem to have a lot in common - golddigging!

I totally agree, Hershey! I never got the love vibe whenever I saw Britney and Kevin together. I did read that Britney has a good pre-nup. She was at least smart enough to do that.

What took her so long! My sister emailed some pictures of Whitney at a event recently, she looked fabulous. Amazing what getting rid of 160 pds. of dead weight will do for you.

That's a lot smarter than that starry-eyed romantic Sir Paul.
I loved the article I read that called him a twit for not having a pre-nup. Yep.

Still, I'm sure Federline loved the lavish lifestyle he lived while with Britney. And he's bound to get lots of money, even with a prenup.

I think Britney will probably turn out alright now that she's unloaded him but I think he's history in the rap world. A shame for those children though, now he's has four children who will be confused.

Let's hope that having 2 kids will smarten her up!

Hershey, you're probably right ... I'm sure he'll still end up with a nice bank account, slimeball ... :-(

NP, he can't be history in the rap world. He was never anything to begin with LOL. His CD didn't sell diddly squat, did it?

Bee, yeah, I'm sure he'll get a tidy sum. After all, I'm sure he didn't sign a pre-nup to get zero if they broke up.

Being a thug who divorced Britney might help in the rap world.

If you hadn't heard...

Federline is now appearing on WWE Wrestling. I thought it was for one appearance, but he reappeared in the most recent pay per view and interferred in a championship match costing the good guy the title.

WWE Superstar has challenged John Cena has challenged him to a match.

I hope Kevin has paid his SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM premiums. :)

Double ditto!!!

At least this marriage lasted longer than the last one; who knows, at this rate she may manage to make it to a second anniversary by the time she's in her thirties.

How many people think that he'll try to go back to his ex girlfriend and baby mama Shar? I hope she doesn't take that POS back after what he did to her.

I don't think he'll want to go back to her. He's used to the high life now, and she isn't wealthy enough or famous enough for him. He has no use for her IMO.

I agree that Britney should have seen this coming. He left his pregnant girlfriend for her MONEY. I think that's it in a nutshell. He was seeing dollar signs if he married Britney. I don't know what she saw in him. I feel bad for the kids too.

But having seen his performance in the recent CSI episode, there's no question he has the potential in his own right for a successful show business career...

in community theater...

Brit is better off, just hope she can keep full custody of the children, for "IF" she wants to she can retire and be a full time mom!
Only one probem the "Media" will not back off and let her live and have privacy!
