Does anyone here like this "mocha-cola"?
I love it!
it's so different, but I'm worried that it's not going to 'fly' and that they'll stop making it.....Please, if you're a fan of Coca-Cola and coffee, try this awesome beverage. I beg you. LOL

I never heard of it...and I haven't seen it in stores, either. Maybe you're in an area where they're doing some customer preference research?

Barbi~ That is very possible, we are really close to New York City and that would seem the best market for this product. Nevertheless, next time you're at your grocery store look for it in the 'Coke' section!

Must be Coke's answer to Red Bull, and the other high caffeine drinks...
The only mention I have seen of it was a taste test on Regis and Kelly... I don't think you want to know their reaction, though, LOL...
I would think it's a niche market... But so are all the caffeine based drinks... I'll bet it's here to stay...

There are 40 calories in each bottle, and it's not artificially flavored.
Makes a nice treat, the cola and mocha flavors are about 50/50, so it's not really a coffee beverage. It IS different, so people are either going to love it or hate it.
It really surprised me that Regis and Kelly didn't care for it, those two are so cultured.

I hate Coke, in any flavor.
I love Pepsi, but rarely drink it b/c of the calories. You can definately tell the difference in taste between the two. If I'm going to drink soda at all, then I splurge occasionally on regular, not diet. Yuck.
This beverage was piloted in Philadelphia a few years ago under a different name. I tried it and I loved it. However, I "flew" for hours after one can of it!!! It was the happiest 4th of July I ever had!!

Finally got to take a good look at this yesterday. I found it with the bottled Starbucks, canned energy drinks, and bottled iced tea. A four-pack of bottles costs the same here as a 4-pack of bottled Starbucks (4.99). ALAS, it does indeed contain Aspartame, so it's a no-go for me.

Miss Cat-Lady, couldn't find the Lime coke...found Pepsi with lime. Didn't buy it as I couldn't find individual portion sizes to try. Found 7up Cranberry Splash(no diet version available). Bought that instead. Not too sickly sweet...glad I tried it.

Cat Lady~ That is strange because I am looking at the label right now and it lists SUGAR.....12 grams of it to be exact, so I doubt that they would need to add any Aspartame. Perhaps they have a "diet" version in your area?
I also went onto their official website and where it lists the nutritional information there is no Aspartame to be found anywhere, just the usual; sodium, fat grams, sugars, carbs etc. Very peculiar.
Sorry you have to miss out!

That is strange !! I know that I saw the word Aspartame on their ingredients list on the bottle. It was way down toward the end, but it Was there. It is very possible that they manufacture for Areas, and do a lower-calorie version for different parts of the country. Or, maybe there IS a diet version and that's what I was looking at. I shall check it out again next time I shop.
SAM KING CAT ~~~ the Lime Pepsi, which I tried when it first came out, is artificial-yucky. Maybe they have changed the formula by now. Diet Lime Coke and Regular Lime Coke are found in the long "refrigerator" 12-pack. A really good, natural Lime flavor is hard to find. I am a Pepsi gal and drinking Lime Coke is like "sleeping with the enemy", but it's the best lime-flavored drink around, IMHO.

NEWS RELEASE
NEW ENVIGA™ PROVEN TO BURN CALORIES
Sparkling Green Tea Creates a Brand New Category That Combines Great Taste and Negative Calories
Atlanta, October 11, 2006 - The drink proven to burn calories – Enviga – hits the U.S. market in the Northeast in November and will roll out nationally in January 2007. A delicious sparkling green tea containing green tea extracts, calcium, and caffeine, Enviga was conceived by Beverage Partners Worldwide – a joint venture of Nestlé S.A. and The Coca-Cola Company.
"Enviga increases calorie burning. It represents the perfect partnership of science and nature," said Dr. Rhona Applebaum, chief scientist, The Coca-Cola Company. "Enviga contains the optimum blend of green tea extracts, caffeine and naturally active plant micronutrients designed to work with your body to increase calorie burning, thus creating a negative calorie effect. It makes this product stand out as unique. Enviga brings the benefits of green tea to the forefront in a convenient and accessible, great tasting beverage."
How Enviga Works
The Nestlé Research Center in Lausanne, Switzerland, has studied the properties and benefits of green tea for decades as part of its extensive global tea business. A recent study conducted by the Center in collaboration with the University of Lausanne revealed that consuming the equivalent of three Enviga beverages over the course of the day resulted in a noticeable increase in calorie burning.
"The accumulated body of scientific research shows the ability of green tea's powerful antioxidant EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) to speed up metabolism and increase energy use, especially when combined with caffeine," said Nestlé researcher Dr. Hilary Green.
Studies have shown that when EGCG and caffeine are present at the levels comparable to that in three cans of Enviga, healthy subjects in the lean to normal weight range can experience an average increase in calorie burning by 60 – 100 calories.
EGCG is a naturally occurring antioxidant in tea, including green tea. Enviga provides 90 mg of EGCG in each serving, along with 20 percent of the daily value for calcium. Enviga's natural flavors and naturally active plant micronutrients make it a refreshing choice for maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
Consumers demand choice
"We've seen a shift in consumers' attitudes toward diet and health and wellness, with more consumers seeking product choices that support active lifestyles, rather than just eliminating things from their diet," said John Hackett, senior vice president, Coca-Cola North America Marketing. "Enviga is a great tasting beverage that invigorates your metabolism to gently burn calories, and it's a positive step people can take as part of a balanced lifestyle – like taking the stairs."
Enviga will be available in three delicious flavors – green tea, berry and peach – in the ready-to-drink tea section at supermarkets, mass merchandisers, convenience and drug stores, and club stores.
Enviga will be sold in individual 12-ounce sleek cans as well as six-can and 12-can multi-packs. Suggested retail price for Enviga will be $1.29 - $1.49 (single can).

Enviga, huh ?? It will sell like hotcakes. In the meantime, there is already on the shelves a green tea soda, all-natural, by Hansen's, the natural juice folks. Go to: www.hansens.com, and you will see it right there on the home page. It is Very Good indeed, and I get a four-pack of large cans for 2.99, making it 75 cents per can. If you can find this, do get it. Try the section where the bottled tea and coffee are. I find it at Randalls, which is owned by Safeway, so if you have a Safeway or Randalls near you, try there. Or, email Hansen's and ask them. I see that it is now in a diet form, for those who do not mind artificial sweeteners.
