OT: Baldwin Arrested In Calif.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- Actor Daniel Baldwin was arrested on suspicion of stealing an SUV.

Baldwin was stopped Wednesday by officers in Santa Monica who saw him in a white GMC Yukon reported stolen in neighboring Orange County, authorities said.

The actor was taken to jail and booked for investigation of grand theft auto. Bail was set at $20,000.

"The car belongs to an acquaintance of Mr. Baldwin, but he had no permission to take it," said Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the Orange County sheriff's department.

An after-hours call to Baldwin's attorney was not immediately returned.

The 46-year-old actor made news in July when he drove a rented car at more than 80 mph through Los Angeles traffic and crashed into two parked vehicles. In April, he was arrested for investigation of cocaine possession, although prosecutors declined to file felony charges.

Baldwin, brother of actors Alec, Stephen and William, has appeared in the television series "Homicide: Life on the Street" and the movie "Car 54, Where Are You?"

I read an article recently (I think in PEOPLE) that one of the Baldwin brothers - and I thought it was Daniel? - is now travelling the country in a truck professing evangelical Christianity. Hmmmm. Wonder if it's the same brother. If so, that was not very Christian of him. :(

I think that was Stephen Hershey. I always try to keep them straight ... theres Alec, the busy one. Then William, the hot one. Then Stephen, the used to be crazy but is now an Evangelical. Then Daniel, the out of work one. :-(

I casually know the Baldwin family. Their father taught social studies here on Long Island and the boys hold many fundraisers for local causes, including the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer Fund.

Stephen has become a Born-Again Christian and travels about keeping teens off the streets and into churches.

Daniel was in the first couple of seasons of the series Homicide, until he went on a major bender and got canned from the series. He is talented, but basically a drunk. Supposedly Alec has similar issues, but he functions better.

In the article they should of had the phrase after actor and between Daniel Baldwin the words. Using the name of profession lightly. :)
