Item Number A04443 - 69.43 T-Strap Comfort Clogs w/ Adjustable Buckle.

Now utilizing the search function in the forum so I don't repeat one like I did with the Sharon one -oops!, I didn't see anyone post this. Not big into the Birki clogs, but will be happy to tune into the show!

Thanks for the TSV heads up, IceCat. They look nice!

LOL about the search.
I bumped that Sharon thread because you posted that you must have missed something. :)

No Sally today?! Whaaaa?!!

According to my other half, I'm allowed to buy one pair of Birkis today, as the ones I wanted for Christmas were sold out. I like the TSV, but wouldn't be able to wear them until April!! By that time, I'm wearing sandals as soon as it hits 40! (Yes I'm a bit nuts hehe :o) So I'm trying to decide which way to go.

But no Sally! I shall give a high kick in her honor. I know many people find her annoying, but I like her - probably because my personality off of the computer is alot like hers. Slightly odd - with the ability to say crazy things at a moments notice and prone to rocking out. Well hold on - I don't say "Fat Pads" or "Orthotic" hmm...

Is anyone getting the TSV? Any any Birki fans on the board?

Rowan

I heard Carolyn say that the man representing Birkenstock today was Sally's "former" boss which I thought was a bit odd...

I tried ordering a pair of Birki's once, but had to send them back because they weren't wide enough. That's why I like Clark's, because they have wide width sizes......

Edited to Add: The guy just said Sally couldn't be there, and didn't say anything about her not being with the company anymore when the caller asked them about her.

Really? That's the opposite of my experience. I have the stupidest widest foot God ever found fit to make (think double wide!! BAH!!), and Birkis fit me well. Any other shoe I've tried on QVC has been too narrow even in the wide widths. I may have to try Clarks soon!

Icecat--

I have Birk sandals that are basically my "live-in" footwear when the weather isn't arctic. Love 'em! Although I hate to say today's tsv isn't for me. I hope you enjoy them, though. :)

I'm a big Birki fan -- I LIVE in them in the summer. The cute styles they've been coming up with even take the guilt out of it! But I've bought about three pairs of clogs and never been really happy with them. There is just something so clunky about the design and they just don't feel as good to me either. They look cute in the picture, but I'm bettting that these won't be any different. I won't be buying these.

The vendor said Sally will definitely be back on; she just couldn't make it to QVC right now.

Rowan, they make Birks in wider widths but I've never seen QVC sell those.
Actually, they sell the "narrows" as Germany makes them but in the USA they are regular widths. The German "regular" width is the wide with. You can tell from the footprint on the box and in the shoe - filled in footprint is the narrower width and outlined footprint is a wide with in USA terms.

that's why I am always confused on the Birkinstock web site!
QVC does have cuter patterns than what is on B.'s website.

HSN is showing Betula's for $49.00 on 2 flex pays.
I never tried them but I guess they are just the same as Birkinstocks?

KITC, and not all the Birkenstock lines run the same. For example, the more stylish line, Papillio which has the cool prints and stuff, runs narrower than other Birk lines. I take different widths depending upon the line. The footprints line which are their shoes for the professional workplace - covered shoes liked all closed Mary Janes, oxfords loafers -- not sandals - run narrower also and I take a wide width in those but not in the other Birk lines, even most of the Papillios in which I take the narrower width. I definitely take the narrower width in the clog which is wide. If you live within driving distance of a Birk store, it pays to try on what you want and then go find it cheaper somewhere else.

Did anyone see the ones with the star swarovski crystal rhinestones last night? I've never seen Birk clogs like those before!

Betula is one of the cheaper lines of Birks. They are rarely in leather, mostly the manmade materials and IMO aren't always as comfortable as some of the other Birks, although they can be hit or miss. The clogs are fine.
What I think is not a good price about the TSV is that they are man made materials and Q charges $100 or so for the suede and leathers. You can do better than those prices. HSN has much better prices on the man made material ones like the Betulas and on clearance. Also there are so many styles not offered on QVC or HSN, although occasionally HSN offers the all closed shoes which I haven't seen on QVC.

thanks Hershey! It is confusing. I usually buy ones that have buckles and I make the straps as tight as possible. I have probably 10 pairs of the sandals and 1 pair of the clogs. while I wear the clogs at home, I don't wear them out, because as Panda said, there's just something clunky about them.

I didn't see the crystal ones on air but I did check them out last night on-line and I loved them!

Count me in as a new Birks lover. My daughter wanted a pair. Here where we live it's the "in" thing with teens, and of course they think they discovered them. :)

I would have had no idea how to look for a size, until a poster here was kind enough to give me so much info!

I would suggest if you are confused about the sizes, go into a store and try a pair on first. That's what I did. Then I ordered them online and saved a bundle.

When my daughters arrived I slipped them on just to try out the size and fell in love with them right away.

I ordered myself a pair this week...although I haven't told my daughter yet. It's not a good thing to "copy" a teen lol

I ordered the Boston Clogs for both of us..I don't find them clunky at all..

LOL. Of course.

I don't think they look clunky either, Dani, and there are oh-so-many copycats now of the Boston style, including a White Mountain copycat sold on QVC.

Danielle

Jess wore them the second day she had them, for a 9 hour shift at work. And she said her feet didn't hurt one bit. She's a tiny little thing, so if they were clunky, she'd notice it :)

It might be just the style clog I have. My ankle is narrow and the clog portion of the shoe is kind of big. I have the little double straps buckled as tight as they will go and it makes the toe look huge! lol!

which is probably my problem. I don't know of any stores around me.

I take a 7 to a 71/2 in shoes, I went with a 38N in Birks which is a 7 narrow and they fit like a glove :)

I just couldn't believe the difference in how they make your feet and legs feel. When I don't wear them for a few days, I can definetely tell. My legs will start aching, even if I've been wearing Clarks. I confess, even when I go out in heels I always take my Birkie's with me.

Danielle
12-29-2006, 05:46 AM
I can't even wear heels anymore! I used to wear them everyday when I worked in an office..

This fall I bought an amazing pair of cranberry suede mules, OMG I could hardly take the pain lol...They sure looked good though!

I had stopped wearing heels for a few years also, but I weaned myself back into them. Just started with low heels and worked my way up! You get used to them again.

QVC sells almost exclusively the narrow. Are you sure they are Birk's regular?
The footprint is filled in on the narrow shoes, and outlined in the regular, which are much harder to find and rarely sold on QVC. So what does the footprint in the shoe look like?

As I say, the clogs run much wider than some of the other styles in Birks.
KITC I would think you got the Birk's narrow if they are from QVC.

Edited to say, I think Clark's are comfortable but not nearly as comfortable as Birks. After hours and hours on my feet, Clark's aren't as comfortable as they first started out.

Must be! LOL
Yeah, I've only seen the wides - outlined footprint - once on QVC in all the years it's presented Birks.
But remember, the German narrow is the American regular width. I think that's why Q keeps showing almost all those.

KITC - I've seen those many times and always liked them. They were a TSV.
Did you try Rowan's 20% coupon that she posted? I don't know what the exp. date is. You can try it if you didn't - you can cancel an order up til midnight on HSN. And now any other clothing item has 1/2 off S&H so shop til you drop!

euroWellness also has a matching handbag. Who knew?
With the 1/2 price shipping and 20% discount, it was a no-brainer!
The purse had a 5 star rating, too.

Oh, I loved that purse, and it's a great price now, even greater with the extra 20% off! For suede!

Rowan, do you know when that coupon expires?

Speaking of Eurowellness, I've never gotten them. The reviews have said they run small and also people either seem to love 'em or hate 'em. I'm not even sure if those are really Birks or not - it's not really clear. Christian Birkenstock is involved with them but I don't know if the Birk Co. makes them.

You are welcome, KITC. And Yes, thank you Rowan. I just sent a few things back to HSN today that I repurchased on clearance with an additional 20% off.

By the way, I have two other Eurowellness purses that were cheap on clearance. And they came with really nice dust bags! So if you don't get one, KITC, then someone probably returned your item.

Rowan

I know it's a good price for the purse, but I want more than just one..... As we all know with HSN they will probably mark them down more in the future, the only problem with that is trying to remember to keep checking the site; because when things are priced well they sell like hotcakes......LOL

The e-mail I got from HSN that told me about the coupon said it expires Dec, 31st......

Thanks, Rowan. I could do a lot more damage between now and then.

Rowan, why not get the purse in your favorite color while it's still there and pick up others if they get reduced more. You are right; clearance merchandise goes fast. And HSN is excellent about giving you a price adjustment w/in 30 days if you see the price is cheaper - the credit for the difference goes right back on your credit card.

Spilt milk! Now you can take advantage of it.
I've gotten quite a bit back since prices got reduced on their clearance. It's very easy to do but make sure you ask for credit back on your charge card and not spendable cash/store credit (you have that choice).

I bought 4 pairs of Birki's from HSN. They fit perfect (size 41), and I have had no problems. I have two pairs with 2 straps (velcro straps), one with crystals, and one with jewels. All of these shoes need a breaking in period.
I have had one pair for over 1.5 years and the foot bed is so worn out, but so comfy. I have never bought any shoes from Sally on QVC or Euro-Wellness from HSN. I am not sure if I like the TSV on QVC, today. All sizes are available, it looks like and its almost 5 here. I really like clogs. I found the suede shoes with cork beds from BASS are very comfy.

I didn't even think of HSN for Birkis, but I went on there and bought a pair of EuroWellness and a pair of Betulas for 30.00 in total without the coupon! They were both highly rated, and if I don't like a pair, I'll probably just keep them for running out in the yard with the dog. 14 something a pair isn't bad at all. I'll post what I think.

I purchased the TSV clogs, and then canceled. I just couldn't warm up to them. And that Kevin doing the high kick... UGHHH!! But I did buy a pair of Triple Strap Floral Sport Birkis that are bright and colorful for the Spring and Summer.

I liked the Birki Clogs with the Crystal Stars, but couldn't afford them.
