While others don't. This tread isn't meant as an attack thread or anything just a simple question. For instance some of Wendy's shows, that I've tired to watch for a short time, she seems to have more camera angles, closer shots and the graphics come up faster. Is it because of her relationship to the people in upper management? The show before ,Tommy's, they were dragging to get any graphics up. I understand sometimes there are technical problems but I rarely see any of those probably at least on the production part of some hosts shows.

I would assume it's dependant on who is working in production. I don't think Wendy gets better production because of her connections....better product would be debatable though!

It is due to a change in shifts of the production crew....
1st, 2nd, & 3rd shift.
Some shifts are better than others and some take more pride in their shows. It also depends on which TD you have, and with what host as well.
Some TD's are there to just get through the shift and collect a check....while some TD's enjoy their work and take pride in what they do and make an attempt at having a "creative" show.
This is just my opinion....it takes place at many networks, local TV, and even production houses.
p.s.....TD = Technical Director

I appreciate the answers, just curious. Yes I agree this happens everywhere else not just JTV.

Well... it depends on the communication that happens before the show between the Sales Producer, the TD, and if they have a list of the product that is going to be shown. Some hosts come in 2 hours before their show for the meeting and tell eveyone the direction they are gonna go in. Others come running in 2 minutes before showtime, leaving the staff to fly by the seat of their pants for the next 4-5 hours.
A lot of times it falls on the HOSTS and their communication to their staff for the day. Usually it's NOT the Sales Producer or Production Crew.
It's easy to blame the people behind the scenes, but sometimes it's utter chaos. Not all the time. But it DOES happen a lot.
Since you don't work there, Kilo, you wouldn't know that though... right?

The name of this board is "Jewelry Television Hosts" - not "Challenge Fellow Posters". How a person can operate a computer and navigate the internet and, yet, demonstrate a distinct inability to grasp the very simple concept that one's posts are to revolve around the board's subject is mind-boggling.

I don't believe that, either kilo, or asdfghj... were challenging anyone, just expressing a different point of view. I feel certain that BOTH have SOME merit, and that both have been true, at some time. Neither of these posts were personal, so, no need to start now. BTW, there has been some very positive and "constructive" posts lately, with some good points made. Kudos, to everyone.

In most cases.....what I have to offer is not a "challenge".
Why is it that some "posters" feel that a different perspective or clarification on a subject.....is a challenge?
In most cases I have found that someone on here will post a question.
I then would post an educated or informed answer.
And if the person who asked the question (or a third party) doesnt agree or like my answer given....they then make a snide comment or make a "challenge".
People also were turned off by the fact that I was skewed toward JTV's side....and I was.....I enjoy many relationships with many folks there.
There its is......I admit my views were skewed....it isnt against the law or anything....its just an opinion.
Why does a difference of opinion have to come down to an argument.....or profanity for some of you?

Whoanellie's quote, by me, was not directed at kilo or asdfghj....
That is the way it should be, both points being valid without getting personal towards another poster. It can be a lively debate, and even fun at times, without getting personal, and those were a good example of that.
An expression of different points of view will always lead to more knowledge about the subject at hand. After all, isn't that what this forum is about? People comming together to talk about how the shows that they, obviously, like to watch, could be better.......and try to figure out why they are not? That's what I hope it is and why I enjoy reading.
