He referenced Regis surgery, and that it was very successful and he is doing fine...

Then he says... "Matter of fact, I believe this was his most successful surgery since he had Kathy Lee Gifford removed."

Letterman has had a rough week -- a sick day, Regis' surgery (well, last week) and I heard today that Larry "Bud" Melman died (whom, I heard, had no family and will have no services.....isn't that sad?)......what a week!
