Remember back when Kathy Hilton had shows on QVC? She probably should have been home tending to the young 'uns. Her attitude here given the circumstances is ridiculous. Paris did stupid things and blew off the consequences. At 26, she's no kid and should know better. IMO this judge may be saving her life--or the life of anyone who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when she next lost control of her competency to operate a motor vehicle. Kathy should be thanking him.

Paris Hilton Going to Jail for 45 Days
By DAISY NGUYEN, Associated Press Writer

LOS ANGELES - Paris Hilton worked as a farmer and maid on her TV show "The Simple Life." Now she's facing a real-life hardship in her latest role: jail inmate.

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, was sentenced Friday to 45 days in county jail for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case by driving with a suspended license.

As an inmate, she might have to spend most of her day in a cell smaller than her closet _ her only luxury escape a short period to shower, watch TV, exercise or talk on the phone.

"I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," Hilton, 26, told a judge before the sentencing.

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer, saying "there's no doubt she knew her license had been suspended," ordered that Hilton report to a women's jail in suburban Lynwood by June 5.

The judge's ruling did not allow any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail. Nor could Hilton pay to serve time in a jail of her choice, as some are allowed.

Hilton left the courtroom with her parents, Kathy and Rick, and headed straight to their car. She looked forward and didn't speak to a crush of reporters and photographers shouting questions at her.

Her mother was visibly upset.

"This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke," Kathy Hilton said of the judge's decision.

Defense attorney Howard Weitzman said he would appeal.

"I'm shocked, I'm surprised and really disheartened in the system that I've worked in for close to 40 years," Weitzman said.

He said the sentence was "uncalled for, inappropriate and bordered on the ludicrous."

"I think she's singled out because of who she is," Weitzman said.

City attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez said that the judge's ruling "sends a clear message that in the city of Los Angeles, no one is above the law."

Hilton pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program landed her back in court.

Should she report to the Century Regional Detention Center, Hilton will be living in a one- or two-person cell as a high-profile inmate, segregated from the general population for her own safety.

Her cell would be spartan: 12-by-8 feet with a toilet, sink and a window 6 inches wide, said Capt. Alice Scott, who oversees the 2,200-inmate facility she describes as "a very nice place."

Hilton can expect to receive three low-sodium meals a day, with dinner the only hot meal.

Inmates in segregation are allowed outside their cells for at least an hour each day to shower, watch television in the day room, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, Scott said. There are a bank of phones that use prepaid phone cards _ cellular telephones and Blackberries aren't allowed.

She was ordered to report to the jail by the set date _ or face 90 days behind bars.

Unfortunately she is a product of 2 parents living vicariously through the children. The parents think their money makes them above the law and passed their values onto Paris. What did they think taking , her out to bars and clubs as a teen and allowing her to drink underage? Kathy is a narcissistic imbecile! Her husband would probable be homeless on the street if he didn't have the trust fund. Kathy would be just what she is a washed up former child star,( only penniless, but having money has done nothing for her) jealous of her sister! The idiot Paris isn't even educated! It all shows. She is nothing but trash no matter what her net worth. She will probable be the next Mrs. Donald Trump. Celebutard is the perfect description. She won't learn a thing from her stint if she even serves a day. Her lawyer, another enabler should be disbarred. Thanks for showing your true colors Kathy just in case anyone thought you were a decent human being. Why don't you all crawl back under your rocks. What a disgusting family.

Hilton better like chicken.

Her 45 jail days at the Century Regional jailhouse for women just south of downtown in Lynwood where inmates get 3 low sodium meals a day and dinner is the only hot meal.

Beef & pork are not permitted. It is all poultry based. She will be segregated from the general population for her own safety, living in a one or two person cell.

The cell is a spartan 12 X 8 feet with a toilet, sink & window 6 inches wide.

She will be able to comb her blonde locks in a mirror made of polished metal.

Breakfast is served between 6AM & 7:30 AM which is roughly when Hilton sometimes gets in after partying.

Inmates in segregation are allowed outside their cells for at least an hour each day to shower, watch TV in the day room, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the phone.

There are a bank of phones that use prepaid cards. Cell phones & blackberries are not allowed.

Ah, the "simple life" !!!

LOL

LOL!!!

She probably avoids beef anyway, since her good buddy Nicole got up close and personal with that cow.

I wonder if she'll still be blonde when she gets out? Literally and figuratively speaking.

I smell a Cinemax movie out of this. Of course they wouldn't use Paris because they need someone who could act. Only the best actresses are used for the late night movies. :)

Or at the very least, yet another stupid "reality" show.

...or a book! What that airhead doesn't realize is that there is not one set of laws for the Hiltons and another for the rest of us. She was drunk...her license was suspended (which she knew full well), and she chose to drive anyway. Would her mother have thought it was such a joke if she hit someone while driving without a license?

I loved her excuse that she thought she was allowed to drive to work. Since her two subsequent arrests were in the middle of the night and she was intoxicated at least one of those times, it sounds like she sure had an interesting commute! No one is above the law and if throwing her in jail for 45 days saves someone's life (even her own stupid one) more power to that judge!

You want to see another pathetic side of Paris, check out TMZ.com....she has a joint in her mouth. Her mother must be so proud of her. She needs a swift kick in her buttocks!

D-Dog, I'm curious.

What is it that you like about the Hilton's??

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and I'd like to hear yours.

What's really sad is her mother is condoning her behavior. And, who is her mother??? They all think they are so great when actually, they are nothing but spending the money that the previous generations worked their butt off to make. Kathy Hilton is just as annoying as her daughter.

pink, I so agree with you. And, strange...no matter what Paris does, her father keeps silent--and he's the one who inherited the $$$ from his father!

Paris' Jail Break

Posted May 8th 2007 7:00AM by TMZ Staff

Paris HiltonParis Hilton could break out of her 45-day jail sentence six days ahead of schedule -- but only if she's on her best behavior. In other words, she MUST serve 39 days minimum, and there's no way out earlier.

TMZ has learned that Hilton is eligible for a "Good Time/Work Time" credit, a federal mandate which offers a chance to leave the joint early -- for inmates sentenced to 11 days or more. According to the mandate, every four days that an inmate spends behind bars "in an acceptable manner" will count as six. So, as long as Paris doesn't smuggle in a BlackBerry or stab a fellow inmate with shank carved from a bar of soap -- she should be back at Hyde after just 39 orange jumpsuit-clad days!

Police sources tell us that the Hollywood hills resident will enjoy a 24-person POD for "special needs inmates," and she'll be bunking with a fellow convict. Finally, being a socialite comes in handy!

The judge has ordered that the celebutante is to receive "no alternative sentencing," which means no work furlough, no home detention, and no city jail programs. And you thought being an heiress was easy.

I think she should have received even more "time"...more than 45 days. How pathetic. She's a scary "role" model to young girls. Her parents are enabling her behavior... tsk tsk.

And now Ah-nold is considering pardoning her?

I'm going to assume that story is just another example of the media coming up with an idea and running with it. Not even Ah-nold is that much of a noodlehead.

PARIS HILTON IS 'NEWS' PRECISELY BECAUSE OF who SHE IS.... DUH!!!!!!!!!!!
OBVIOUSLY, 'THE SO-CALLED MEDIA' PARAPARAZI(SPELLING) ARE DEVOURING THE INFO ABOUT PARIS--HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER-- WHILE TRYING TO DEVERT ATTENTION FROM SERIOUS NATIONAL ISSUES......!
PARIS IS OBVIOUSLY THE AMERICAN EQUIVALENT--AND, OF COURSE, A VERY POOR CHOISE-- OF BRITISH ROYALTY!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUT, HEY, AMERICANS GET WHAT WE PAY FOR!!!!!!!!!

I heard that Paris is going to ask "Governator" Schwarzenegger for a pardon. If I were him I'd send her an autographed photo of The Terminator with a message that reads: "Astalavista Baby".

She got exactly what she deserved. In my State, a person in the same circumstances would have been jailed immediately.
