The NYTimes article indicates that the QVC hosts can "make up to one half million a year or more." That could explain why Lisa R doesn't have a SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM!!!

What was the date of that article in the New York Times? It sounds fascinating.

Thanks Curvi...I appreciate the link.
Rebel Mom, do this board a favor and remove your fingers out of your crotch! Your tv shopping friends are doing a better job stinking up this board than your severe yeast infection.

I said a few months ago they probably start around 250,000+. Selling products on live tv is hard.

Right off the top of my head I can think of much tougher jobs. Teaching HS students which pays very little and doing hard physical labor such as making road repairs are just slightly harder than selling gold bracelets on a shopping channel, IMO. I'm assuming you were joking.

I dunno...it seems to me that if certain hosts at QVC can make up to $500,000 a year (and I assume seniority comes in to play a bit), then the hosts could dress better (Lisa Robertson in dirty jeans or cream pants, Patti Reilly in those stretched-out black pants, Dan Wheeler in his tenting chinos come to mind). And, some of the female hosts could afford to have their hair professionally done instead of having it flopping in their eyes and scraggling down the back of their collective necks. If they are making these kind of bucks, they're not spending it on themselves!

Being a host is more difficult than you realize. We audition 1000s of people for these roles to find the handful of people who can actually invest the time and effort to bring our items to you each day. Sure digging ditches and paving asphalt are much harder from a physical perspective and equally respectable, but please realize the hours that these hosts put in daily is enormous. The amount of product information they need to be intimate with is a daunting task. We won't allow our hosts to hard sell you product they don't agree with or have no experience with.
$500,000 a year is a complete fabrication. Don't believe everything you read regardless of it's source.

Barbi - Tenting chinos, huh? Is that in response to my camel toe reference perhaps? He went from one extreme to the other! LOL!
Inside - Do you have knowledge of ShopNBC or HSN pay scales?
