I wonder sometimes if it's all hype. The treacherous trip to the rainforest, the arduous task of procuring the ojon substance, etc. Anybody tried it and been blown away?

Forensicat, there is a Search function on the top right of this BB.
OJON has been discussed here several times before. If you take the time to use the Search function, I'm sure you will see plenty of comments about it.
This topic is nothing new.

I'm not hyped about it. It makes my hair greasy and weighed down.

i agree with the greasy and weighed down. many other products are much better. i've had good luck with Schwarzkopf - their Bonacure "Sealed Ends" is terrific for that "rainforest-y" look of the guy's wife/model but does not weigh down hair.

i have no clue about the truth of the story. i do have a hard time imagining the Ojon guy 'roughing it', as the legend goes.

I think it's one of those love-it-or-hate-it-things. I've heard people gag at the smell, and others relish it. I've just never tried it because I like what I already use and it's a whole lot cheaper. Plus, Morticia and Gomez creep me out.

Also, I think it would probably be suited to only certain hair types. If your hair is thin and stringy ...I would imagine one would not be happy with the results.

Corser, thicker hair might get better results. I have not tried it, - yet.

can one ever be really "happy" with thin, stringy hair?
just kidding.
