If we are only supposed to focus on the product, why do these hosts bring so much focus on themselves? Why not just put a bunch of crap on a turn table, put on some music and let it be.

We all know that's not gonna work ...

You go to a store, and get crappy service or deal with a snooty sales person. This is no different ... it turns people off. Just as, you get great service or work with an extremely friendly and knowledgeable clerk ... you return for more.

You get lied to by your government, or get crappy service/food at a restaurant ... do you just sit back and take it? No, you stand up for what you think is right ... and vote one way or another, and or choose to never visit that restaurant again. This is no different.

Ever visit the boards over on HSN or QVC? Negative as well as positive is posted. This is no different.

Where were you when I was posting nice things? Nowhere to be found. Interesting ... ;-)

there's nothing wrong with 10k per se

what's offensive to me is the atrocious lies regarding the price of gold related to 10k that is constantly misquoted.

what's also offensive is the misleading claims about the appraisals.

please -- what's the real resale value of the stuff, not the current replacement cost.

they're cutting isn't really any better than any of the other jewelry channels, but don't pretend it is

in the past when they used to show the stones basically one at a time, you knew what you were getting

now, they use that bizarre completely ludicrous and misleading minimum carat weight formula

no clue what the inconsistent quality is on the stuff that they didn't show on camera

unless they let you know it's one only and then

I just love how Tommy has learned to flip the stone over just as the inclusion is coming on screen in hopes of our never seeing it

he used to have more integrity in the early days or at least so it seemed

I don't think that's a fair statement to make... If you watch her shows (namely, the ones with Robert), you will notice that her words get stepped on quite frequently. It's not many hosts that are responsive to what the cos have to say. I take her lack of commentary to be due to her being fed up... And truthfully, I enjoy what Avi has to say. I think she's very knowlegeable. She at least doesn't pretend, like some of the OTHER hosts who like to make up gemstone information as the go along.

don't get me wrong, Avi is one of the very few i like

I am not bothered by Rober'ts exuberance, he seems happy where he is,

Avi;s biggest problem is she is young and doesn;t quite get how to do the repartee with him
her show with him today was exceptional,

she didn't say hummmmhmmm once

she talked straight through

what i'd like to see is her hosting the high end shows on Sunday

she'd add a real touch of class to that show

I just wish she'd stand up for herself more

I suspect she's pregnant too and just not announcing

she sure looks like it

that may account for some of her deference to Robert if her age does not

she is more expressive when she is with the younger Angie, so it's just a matter of practice

if they hired more like Avi, they'd get more attention from me

As far as show host bashing goes, I have to agree that Wendy is kind of boring, but (sheesh, sue me!) I actually like Tamara and *sorry Bee* Scott. Who I REALLY like is Dawn, but she's hardly ever on by the time JTV comes on in our area, which means she has to work until 12 midnight... something she totally doesn't like to do. I wonder how Simon is doing? Gosh he must be 5 years old by now! I remember when Dawn and Cheryl always did their shows together ---memorrries---- and Dawn asked the viewers for ideas about how to keep Simon from kicking his blankets off him in his crib!
I love Valerie's heart and she seems like a total sweetie but on air she's too "under the co's thumb" and way too "oh yeah" about everything. I still wince whenever I hear "while they last" and it's still going around, but thank God not as much. Misty *Fake n Bake*, you're not at all orange anymore! Plus your hair doesn't make us think of the B-52's anymore either! Do you guys really listen to us here? You must! Mandy doesn't wear white eyeliner anymore.... thank you for that! I just have to say that when she says "NINE-ty Nine DOLLLLLL -ERS and ninety nine cents" or whatever amount of DOLLLLLLLL-ers she says, I can feel the baby hairs on the back of my neck stand up and one time I think they tried to salute. I agree, she looks lovely in her natural skin, or maybe a very good spray-on? Either way, she's not orange anymore, her hair isn't too big and she doesn't say "while they last" "first come first served" every other sentence anymore! She's a total sweetheart!
I have to admit that I felt like a total heel for being so harsh and hard on her in the beginning.
