I enjoy Lisa and agree she is beautiful. But is anyone else sick of her saying "that looks like money" or "it is what anyone with money would want". What is her obsession with money and material things? She seems to idolize money!!!

Lisa is single and has no children, so "looks" matter more to her. We've all been there. Our society is obsessed with celebrity, who all carry $$$ designer handbags and wear super expensive jewelry. I think she is trying to use that money fascination that so many have, to sell whatever product she is hawking at the time.
For those of us that watch regularly, it gets old ... just like David Venables googly face when eating, or Jane Tracey's perfect daughter talk ... it's cheesy and annoying after about 3 times.
I don't think she's obsessed, it's just her schtick.

Lisa is supposedly an intelligent woman so I can't believe she doesn't understand how shallow she sounds with all the money talk. How supid does she think we are?

There is an old saying to the effect that people who have money and have always had money, never talk about that fact. It is considered in extremely poor taste. I think Lisa needs to learn that lesson.

I have heard Lisa say many times that something "looks like money." But, I came away with a different impression than the rest of you. It seemed to me as though she was saying, "This looks really expensive, but it only costs pennies at QVC." I don't know...maybe it's just my interpretation...

That's how I take it too Barbi. LOOKS like money, but at fabulous QVC prices! lol ...

We have to remember, Lisa grew up in beauty pagents. They glorify physical beauty. Some intelligence too, but the beauty part is the most noticeable and encouraged. I don't know her talent, playing the violin or something like that? singing? I've never heard her sing. She is now about 42, and that is all she has known. Beauty, beauty and more beauty. And when you start to get up in your years, the beauty starts to fade (well, for some :)). She is probably trying to hang onto that. The "looking like money" is all a part of it. Beauty and money a lot of time goes together. It's her mindset. And I agree with others, I think she is really saying that something looks expensive but isn't expensive. However, I suspect she does not deny herself much of anything regardless of what it costs. Lisa does appear to be very intelligent and comical, but her rearage in beauty pagents, and what that must have cost, rule her. Just my humble opinion.

Wise words LawandOrder. One of my sisters was considered a "beauty" back in her day and she has never gotten over that.

How often have you caught yourself or others say to young girls:
"Oh, look how pretty you are!"
"Well, look at your gorgeous little outfit you are wearing"
"Aren't you a beauty....look at your eyes, hair, etc..."

I don't think there is anything wrong with giving someone a sincere compliment - it is how the recipient takes the compliment and if in their mind, being beautiful is all that matters in their life.

Yes, I understand. However, we make such a fuss on girls at a very very young age...we praise their looks, their outfits.

lawandorder: you said a mouthful! Isn't it true of most of us that our pasts and careers define who we are today as adults? I think it's referred to, in psychological terms, as a "frame of reference." Lisa is what she is and I'm okay with that. She's a saleswoman after all is said and done!

ITA! Beauty pageant women have a hard time aging gracefully. Beauty for them can be the ultimate curse. Lisa's age is catching up with her and money is the comforting factor. I missed out on beauty and money! LOL! Lisa count your blessings!

A MUCH BETTER ROLE MODEL FOR FEMALES THAN LISA IS, OF COURSE, DR.(PHD) DREW FAUST, THE NEW PRESIDENT OF HARVARD WHO DOES not HAVE A HISTORY OF BEING IN BEAUTY CONTESTS.

Dr. Faust would probably not be IN a beauty contest....:) LOL! However, she is to be admired.
