I was reading through the Q forum, and there are quite a few posts bashing the plus size model Rebecca, and then there was this response (which I cut and pasted) :

I adore Rebecca. I think she oozes charisma and franky, at times, dominates the thin expressionless, stiff models. She is a goddess that shows how flirty and great lookin' a plus size can be.

Ever wonder why the top designers request her to model their clothes? There's plenty of other plus size models to choose from.

I looked up the user, and it was all "hidden" and it was a first time poster. Doesn't it almost sound like it IS Rebecca responding?? I know there were a few posts that were very unflattering to Angel, and a few of her friends actually responded as such, but do you ever wonder if it is the actual person they are talking about that responds?

It's either Rebecca herself, or a family member!

"A goddess"!!!! I can't think of a plus sized woman I've ever met that did a cringe-worthy slow eye bat, or acted like they were a 16 yr. old ingenue! LOL!

For that matter, I was reluctantly watching her model Stan Herman's line the other day, and noticed how she coyly put one foot behind the other constantly, the way a child might do. WTH?? She's icky.

Give me Angel over her any day. She might not be real curvy, but she's got a fun, pleasant demeanor, that comes across as not trying so hard, like Rebecca!

And do you think it's actually the designers requesting her as the poster states? I know someone at the Q must have a hard-on for her, she's on 24/7, but i didn't think the designers actually take the time to demand a certain model. Now hair/makeup on the other hand, i could see the creater wanted to use a certain someone since they do demos. but clothes?? I wouldn't think so....

If it is her, I wonder if she's reading our "fractured fables" story line. :-)

Anyone who has ever seen Iris, Angel or Pam model plus size clothes on the Q, knows that it is possible to be a plus size model relating to the majority of customers and have a great personality. Iris was a total diva and everyone loved her. Rebecca comes across as kind of snotty and superior. She reminds me of one of those cheerleader types who loved to make us "normal" girls miserable. And that remark has nothing whatsoever to do with her size!

Hmm. Well, I honestly would think they'd rather have her model the clothes.

Did you see her doing the last Laura Gellar show?? OMG. TONS of red looking rouge, accentuating too-full cheeks, that I would think would do nothing to help sell the product, IMO.

And lets not forget; when you get that upclose and personal on her, it's really then that you notice that confounded simpering mugging she does!

*Real slow now* *Blink* *Blink* *Followed by "alluring" coquettish smile* BLAH!

I actually read here that Joan Rivers requests Suzanne and Stacey.

No, your not the only one. I didn't see the big deal with her either. And even though i'm sure Angel is a nice person, I don't think she makes the clothes look very appealing to me either...

I'd bet a paycheck that CERTAIN vendors have it written into their contracts with QVC that they (the vendors) can and do select models for their lines, whether it's clothes, make-up or even jewelry. I'd go so far as to bet that they even get to choose which hosts they'll work with. Remember when Joan Rivers was ALWAYS on with Kathy Levine?

I think you have it right Bichonlady. Joan Rivers makes a lot of money for the Q and I am sure picks her own models. I am willing to bet any vendor who is successful gets to pretty much negotiate their own terms. Having said that, I have to speak up for Iris. She was a hoot and never seemed to take herself too seriously - which you can't say about Rebecca.

I have to agree. She's miles apart from Rebecca......she was much more fun to watch.
