Would you like to be a QVC host?

I wouldn't mind being a QVC host for one day for 2 hours, because it looks easy on TV, even though it's probably not. Some of them who are host don't deserve the job in my opinion & I can name one right now. If you have to take lessons before you're on camera, I wouldn't mind Lisa Robertson being my teacher. Being a QVC host for one day for two hours only would be a great contest as well for the channel just for fun.

I could handle the selling part but I would hate being on display 24/7. It is very hard to have a private life when you live in the spotlight like they all do.

I have a hard enought time speaking in public without going on TV in front of millions of people and being criticized to pieces. I 'm sure I get enough of that at work everyday and it's a small office. Whoever is out of the click at any given moment gets shredded to pieces

Like Abbey Road I do think it could be fun to train with your favorite host for a while and then go on air maybe just for one show. I have been to a live show at QVC and I must say it was a lot of fun. Everybody seems really cool, just everyday people like us and they want it to be a good experience for the audience.

No way would I want to make a living hawking junk that people don't need or want just to satisfy some repressed need that they will never satisfy. I am not narcacistic or materialisitc enough for their job.

TV hosting is not something I would be interested in--I think in some instances, it's very difficult to talk about one or two products for an entire hour--and when it comes to your 10th time talking about a certain product, it must be so boring that it's hard to whip up interest and enthusiasm. I think I have the ability (after training, of course) to be a host, but I can't imagine the job, no matter what the pay, being worth the effort. And the hours--they're irregular and certainly not family oriented.

Do any of you remember the movie "All That Jazz" staring Roy Schneider? It was directed by and based on the life of Bob Fosse. Schneider would get up in the morning, smile at the bathroom mirror, pop a handfull of s and yell - "it's showtime, folks". Somehow, I think that must be what being a QVC host is like.

Definitely not a life I'd choose.
