View Full Version : The Q's inefficiency in returns

Well, they did it again. I returned a leather blazer to Lancaster and they received it on August 21. They processed it yesterday. Let's see - that's 9 (count 'em) days they held on to my money. Someone tell me it's not deliberate.
I am to the point that I think I will just quit the Q altogether. I return 1 of every 2 items I purchase and the postage, SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM and proof of delivery are just getting too expensive, plus my time is worth something. There was a time their "Q" really stood for quality. I believe that time is long past. Very long past.

Honestly, I don't think it's deliberate, Hoosiergirl.
I think it's probably just due to the fact that there is a high influx of returns, and it all depends on when they get to yours. I have to say that I've been very lucky in getting speedy refunds, and only once did I have a problem where it took 2 weeks to get it taken care of.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but in 20 years of shopping at QVC, I have never, ever returned one item. I am very careful about what I -and so far, everything has lived up to my expectations. As annoying as I find the vendors and the hosts, in my experience, I have always been pleased with the merchandise. I have ordered a few pieces of jewelry--but mostly Denim & Co., electronics (with the exception of Bose) and leather handbags.

I don't know if it's deliberate or not, but I agree with you on the rest, hoosiergirl. I'm returning a large percentage of my orders lately because it's just crap, and the reviews on the QVC website have been a real eye opener--I've not made at least five purchases this month because after reading the reviews I've thought I'll likely be making another return if I buy this product. I'm very happy with QVC's customer service, but the merchandise is definitely lacking.

Please do that, hoosiergirl. You will be doing both yourself and QVC a favor, and spare us countless more threads of your whining about this issue.
I think your expectations are totally unreasonable for how it takes to credit your returns.

I don't think your expectations are extreme - certainly if they received it on the 21st a time of 2 - 3 days is not unreasonable. I think as someone else has said. they probably have so many returns that it takes longer to process them. 9 days is too long.

hoosiergirl,
I don't think they do it on purpose either. They probably get so many returns that it's hard to keep up with the .

What am I doing wrong? Everything I type is getting cut off at the end of the sentence.

I've stopped buying any clothing from the Q because it just does not fit correctly, and I seem to be returning all the gold I buy. Most of the silver still seems to be ok. I think the electronics and cameras can be purchased elsewhere for the same (or less) money, and, of course, minus the shipping.
The only product line I will give a hearty endorsement to is the Cooks' Essentials. I love that stuff. (But I now have all I can possibly use.) I have a Yankee Candle store nearby, so I really don't need Valerie. I have a Tempur pedic mattress, so I don't need the sleep number beds they keep hawking. I have a Linens 'n' things and Bed, Bath and Beyond very close - also a J.C. Penney where I buy bed linens and towels. There's a Barnes and Nobel where I can buy cookbooks. I am really asking myself - why do I think I need the "Q". The answer I keep coming up with is "Kiddo, you really don't."

The word you're typing is being deleted by the filter. Who knows why certain words (like p i l l) don't make it through. Always check what you've written after it's posted, then go back and edit by retyping the word with spaces between letters so your post makes sense!
