Did anybody watch any of Judith's shows? Tempted by anything?
I of course, watched all of her shows, but didn't love the TSV charm bracelet. However, I did get very annoyed at Lisa Robertson telling us how to wear it last night. It's a charm bracelet ... you know, scattered charms all around the bracelet! But according to her, you should put all the charms together on one link ... "cluster them, this is how you should wear it". PHOOEY!
I had a viewing party for her final 2-hour show last night. 7 of my girlfriends came over and we all drank wine and chatted as I introduced them to QVC and what Judith has to offer them there. I was a bit worried, cuz many of these women are quite snobbish ... but I'm happy to report that every single one of them ordered something. Two of them went a bit wild ... but it squelched my worries of what they think of it all. One gf actually has a couple of Judith's high end pieces, and is very excited to see the quality of the sterling line.
I only ordered one thing (actually two). I ordered J8089 Sterling Cultured Freshwater PearlDrop Earrings, one in each color (black and white). We go to the annual black/white ball every year, and I am going to wear one black, and one white earring. Judith said she has done this, and I've seen it many society women do this at events. I'm so excited ...
I really loved J23269 Judith Ripka Sterling Link & Carved Onyx 17-3/4"Necklace, but I didn't call in quick enough ... it sold out so fast!
I think about 4 of my gf's ordered the marquiese earrings (J18380), it seemed to be the most popular item of the night ... that and J23569 Judith Ripka Sterling Champagne & White Diamonique Enhancer. I really liked that one too, but I have such a hard time getting past the diamonique thing. I'd really rather spend my money on genuine gemstones!
Judith made it very clear she really only likes hosting with Lisa. I'd be kinda mad if I were Rick or Jill, both whom I thought did a great job of kissing ass just like Lisa does ... ;-)
Kinda funny, earlier in the day Judith was talking about the DeBeers campaign from many years ago ... "if it isn't a carat, it's not a diamond"? Later on in the day I was watching JTV, and one of their hosts (Nikki) said it as well. I'm guessing, she was watching Judith's earlier show on QVC! hehe! Wonder what she ordered!
Did anybody notice Lisa's new Rolex last night? I haven't noticed her wearing it before ...

Hi Bee -
I saw some of the show w/Lisa last night. Her items are lovely, but too spendy for me. Course, not like that's stopped me before! LOL
Lisa R. is my favorite host, but I can't watch the Ripka shows for any length of time as I find the latter so arrogant. She just gives the impression that she's better than anyone else.
I'm sure your friends will enjoy what they purchased. She does have some really cool (and unique) stuff.

Hi MissItaly! :-) I used to agree on Judith coming off as arrogant, but since I watch almost every show ... I have noticed an improvement in that department. She is very humble with the callers. I remember a long time ago she got obviously annoyed when someone would call in and call her items "stuff". Yesterday she commented on how much she loves it when people call it "stuff", because they apparently love it so much, they come back for more.
Once again, as I've said dozens of other times and places ... QVC really needs to offer easy pay on more higher priced items. Maybe Judith needs to bring in more quantity ... I don't know ... cuz I'm sure if they did offer easy pay on more of her items, everything would sell out.

I wonder if Judith will ever bring a "Gold Line" of Jewelry....

What did she actually say?
Lisa R. sells out most everything.

I watched most of the day and did some major damage to my wallet. I love Ripka jewelry because her pieces are different and I think good value for the money. What I don't like were the constant references to her "regular" stores. It almost sounded like Judith wants to get you hooked on her lower price line on the Q so you will move up in the world to the high end items. For those of us who can't afford Madison Avenue, this was kind of insulting.

I like JR line of jewelry , but's it's just too over the top for me too personally wear. The rings have to big of carat weights. I would consider buying some of her less blingy pieces.

I had two sets of earrings one ruby and one sapphire. 3/4 carats each heart shape bezel in gold. simple
i lost (just as i do with all my earrings) one of each pair.
I wore one red and one blue for about a year, til I decided to buy another set of earrings which i knew i would just end up losing
it was about 2003 just before us went to iraq
i claimed i was just patriotic
it actually looked pretty cool
i am glad to know my outreness is now becoming the norm

Bee~ I've seen her wear it a lot. She also has a watch that I own ( Michele Deco Mini Stainless Steel ). She wore it when she was on with Judith a few months ago...........I don't know how she gets away with wearing "competitive " jewelry while she is actually hosting a jewelry show~ ESPECIALLY with someone as particular as Judith Ripka. Makes me wonder sometimes; who is kissing up to whom?

I noticed Lisa being coy with her watch last night also with Judith and I was wondering if she has an advance of the rumored-to-be-coming-soon new Ripka watch. I have not been a Ripkanista from the beginning so I don't know the whole story but apparently there was an earlier version of a watch which sold out immediately and there has been a lot of talk about when the next one is coming out.
I wasn't thrilled with the Diamonique in Ripka at first but then my friends on this board explained how in her high end line she uses a lot of diamonds, so Diamonique in the silver designs makes perfect sense. What has really hooked me lately is the mint quartz. I have one small enhancer (before yesterday that is) and I literally get asked about it everytime I wear it. So now I am a mint quartz junkie.

bee, Neiman's is now carrying a line called Judith Ripka II, which is -- you guessed it -- sterling with some gold. As you can imagine, the prices are not competitive!

Beekeeper,
That sounds like fun. My friends & I used to have each other over to watch prime-time TV shows & it was a good excuse to get together. You should tell QVC you want a discount on your order since you had a "QVC Party" & your friends all ordered something. Like a Longaberger Basket Party. Ha-Ha.
What is the white/black ball that you go to? A charity event?
I've been tempted many times to buy something of Judith Ripka's. Her jewelry seems more substantial than some of the other stuff out there.

I've seen this line Panda, and you are right ... the prices are high!

My TSV charm bracelet came today and it is very pretty. However, the large lobster claw clasp that closes the bracelet looks flimsy so I might return it. The rest of the bracelet and the charms are solid - so why have an obviously lower quality clasp?

Awww, I'm sorry to hear that Rebel_mom! She always goes on and on about how her clasps aren't out of a book, but custom. I'm surprised it is flimsy too. Maybe wear if for a few days before you return it. It may wear just fine .... ????

I will stretch it out as long as I can to decide...The mint quartz earrings and matching enhancer came today and they are beautiful. I think I have about 15 or so Ripka items now and the quality has always been great.
