Shawn is okay but needs some polish. Most of the hosts at QVC could use a few pointers on presenting products and working with the vendors rather than alongside them. Shawn fits in this group.

I don't understand why QVC doesn't tell a few of their hosts to be more professional on air or throw some money at voices lessons for those who need it.

I just got my Thanksgiving easy-pay card and notice Shawn's "signature" isn't on it--I guess QVC's not ready to commit yet!

I think Shawn is a host in training. They make sure she will work ot before giving a contract and making her an oficial host. I think it is usally about 6-8 weeks after they start presenting on thier own and someone presnets them with flowers and announces them as an official host, this occurs arond 7AM. I have never seen it but have been informed by friends who have seen it with the last 5 hosts. Once they have a contract they show up under meet the host.

If she is still a host in training, hasn't it been a long time since she started? I thought by now, she would be official. Wonder why ??? I can't watch her either. She has a gift of gab which you need to do a host job but she is not endearing to the audience, the buyers. Her voice drives me nuts and I just don't enjoy watching her or Patti or most of them anymore. That is why my Q card is paid off.......After 16 years.....Yeah....Keep the bad hosts comin.......

Yes, my mother will do that from time to time and may I add, she ROCKS when she does it. She leaves the person on the other end in stiches. These people know what QVC is broadcasting and they probably appreciate the complaint! They are taking it all down because you can hear the keyboard clicking away and she's even received a letter and a few phone calls to follow up. Shocking, but true.

Essentially, she makes up words. The last one I can recall was 'elasticated'. She should have said, 'elasticized'. I guessed that it was a combination of elasticized and masticated, which is what she does to the language. A very astute poster on here called her way of speaking Q-Bonics. It's just awful and considering the fact that she came from television news, it's just wrong. Couple her Q-Bonics with her mania, and you have a show host just begging for the snark. And I aim to please.

Nope, it's not there Puddy.

she's got quite a few up there, doesn't she?

She reminds me of this girl I went to high school with; She ALWAYS had to be 'on', always the center of attention, never really cared about anyone else but herself..

The upside of it is, she's now nearly 50, extremely overweight, and she has conversations with herself, as I noticed when glimpsing her in a dept. store. And, I hear she's all alone.

I say Shawn's her in about 10 yrs.
