Thanks for posting, Bee....an interesting mix! I wondered where Steve Guttenberg has been all these years.

Looks like the Enquirer was wrong....no Florence Henderson in sight! Nor Donny Osmond!

I guess the people who have the time to practice for several months & to do the show are only the has-beens. I had to read about 1/2 the names as I didn't know who they were.

Valerie Bertinelli would have been a good choice since she lost about 40 lbs. She's sort of a has-been, but I like her.

Hershey, to be fair ... it's dancing with the Stars, not Dancing with the current A-listers. Pretty sure I haven't seen an A-lister in any of the past seasons.

I'm sure many of them are celebrities who are hoping to boost their fledgling careers ... but I have no problem with that. In a business where you can be hot one day and passe the next, they have to do what they have to do. I have a feeling that some of them are doing it just for fun as well.

Celebrity comes and goes, but I think all of these people (even though I don't know who a couple of them are), are indeed, Stars. Maybe a star of yesteryear ... or a star in a genre of sports or society that I don't know much about ... but Stars none the less.

Bee,

Mario Lopez, Joey Lawrence & Drew Lachey & others all got job offers after the show. So I'm sure doing the show show is helping a lot of them revive their careers.

I read that when the show first started, celebrities were turning down the show - even Joey (I think that's his first name) Fatone turned down the show in the beginning. After they found out the show was a hit, they all changed their mind & wanted to be on.

Bee, my remarks weren't mean to be confined to this upcoming season, but were for all the seasons. And I think in a lot of cases, although not all, it's a lot more accurate to say they were stars, rather than they are stars.

By the way, I wonder if Maxim isn't coming back because he feels he and Mel should have won last year, and he's going a sour grapes thing.

I love DWTS. I'm glad to see Steve Guttenberg included. He was a favorite of mine when he was in Cocoon, 3 Men and a Baby, etc. I also loved him in the 2 Hallmark Channel movies he made, "Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus" and the sequel.
The lineup looks pretty good and there will be a dark horse in there somewhere.

Is this the best, they could do?! It looks like a dud lineup! Priscilla Presley? Priscilla looks like death warmed over. I would had loved to seen Elvis daughter, Lisa Marie in the competition. Adam Corolla is a Hugh Hefner wannabe! It was my understanding that Gene Simmons was asked to join, but his obligation was with the Celebrity Apprentice. Yes, I was hoping that Donny was going to compete, darn!

Priscilla Presley was attractive until she gave her plastic surgeon a pic of Jack Nicholson as the Joker & told him to replicate it on her face. Seriously, WTF?? She looks bizarre and downright scary. Plastic surgery doesn't make you look young(er) in my opinion, it just makes you look odd.

However, I disagree with the "dud" lineup inasmuch as we have Jason Taylor and Christian de la Fuente to drool over. Poor Julianne Hough, she got stuck with Adam Carolla as her partner! Methinks she will not have a 3-peat win.

Tooncey & Butterflies,

So ... what did everybody think?

My faves are Christian and Kristi. Jason is kinda hot too ... :-)

My least faves were Adam and Shannon.

I know I'll probably be in the minority, but I really loved Marissa's attitude and spunk. She is so excited to be there and it shows ... I embrace that about her.

Priscilla's face still scares me! :-(
