I was wondering if any of you know the usual width of Birkenstocks sold on QVC. I don't know if they sell Narrows, Mediums or Regular widths. These are the widths offered at Birkenstock Central and I am unsure which one to choose. I normally order from QVC and have no problems. I appreciate whatever help you can provide.

By the way, Birkenstock Central has some of the very expensive ones by Heidi Klum offered at considerable savings in case in of you are interested!

I've never bought any Birkenstock's so I don't know about their sizing.

But, thanks for the hint about BirkenstockCentral.com. I've always wanted to try a pair, so I'll take a look at that site for a good deal. I noticed they offer Free Shipping for over $50, too.

I bought a pair of Betula's. I ordered and had to return for one size down.

Most of the Birkenstocks sold on QVC are medium width. Occasionally, they have narrow ones.

But QVC doesn't really make the distinction when they're selling the shoes as they really should do. You only know when you get them home.

Size down, if you wear a 7 1/2 to 8, order 7. I have ordered one pair of betula's, they are basically for going to the pool because of the pattern. But birkenstock's and betula's are very hard stiff shoes. They are wide-ish. My daughter likes them. I worked in a hospital, in the dept of surgery, for 25 yrs. and almost all the surgeons wore birkenstocks because they would stand for hours and thought they were comfortable. So.....I don't know much about the comfort personally. I was always wearing heels.

Thanks so much for the info! I guess ordering a medium width would be a safe bet.

I just checked out Birkenstockcentral.com and found the prices in the $100 range. If you want inexpensive Birks, go to overstock.com. Many shoes there are in the $50 range. I buy mine at Sam's Club for under $50.

Have you ever returned anything to Overstock.com? Was there any problem. and is it 30 days?

PDL,

Most unused items can be returned up to 30 days of delivery. Check out the site to check out the entire return policy. I think, after 30 days, they'll refund you up to 80% of the item's value.

I returned only one item & didn't have any trouble.

ok ....I have officially fat feet.

I wore my new betula's this weekend. I got blisters !

The pair I have does not come with an adjustable strap. It is a band of tweed material.

I looked at the catalogue that I received and most of them are considered normal width. (as in the pair that I wore) They show some that are described as wide width.

Crap. I never thought my feet were fat :(

You may also be interested to know that Sierra Trading Post sells "discontinued" Birkenstock styles all year long. This week I ordered 2 pair of LEATHER (not BirkiBuck) sandals for a total of $110. Generally speaking---& I have at least 50 pair----the Narrow is average width. I usually wear size 6-1/2 or 7 in US sizes but always purchase 37N in Birkenstocks.
