(June 9) - Martin Bashir, a journalist on ABC's 'Nightline' best known for his interviews of Michael Jackson and Princess Diana, was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Bashir discovered his condition after being hit on the head during filming for 'Nightline' and being rushed to the hospital. Later, scans revealed the tumor growing on his brain, the Daily Mail reports.
"Martin was filming his show when he knocked his head pretty badly and had to go and have stitches. The next day he was still in a lot of pain so he went back to the hospital, where they did some tests. It was then that the doctors realized he has a tumor growing on his brain," a family friend said.
"While of course it has been very upsetting, Martin is seeing it as a blessing in disguise. If he hadn't had the knock to his head, he would never have known about the tumor," the friend added.
For his part, Bashir has promised "to get on with his life."
---------------
I presume it's not malignant. Unbelievable since, apparently, he had no other symptoms.
